The Sales Account Executive is responsible for generating available local advertising dollars for the station group through the sale of commercial television and digital marketing solutions to advertising agencies or local advertisers. They should bring solutions to these businesses with Nexstar's full suite of media and digital products. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prospect, qualify, develop, close, and grow new digital advertising business. Plan and organize a sales strategy. Monitor and track sales plan and assigned strategies. Prepare quarterly sales revenue budget and target goal and is responsible for achieving budget and sales quotas established with management. Evaluate performance results against goals. Conduct in-depth needs analysis to understand each client's unique advertising goals. Develop and present customized digital & tv advertising solutions. Make in-person presentations to agency buyers and planners or local advertisers. Book orders and negotiate spot placement and rates based on the parameters for rate negotiations set by sales management and the advertiser parameters for each advertising campaign. Serve agencies/clients as a market expert by providing information on the respective platform and the competition. Verify accuracy of clients' scheduled dates and times on a regular basis; verify client's billing based on quoted audience delivery; handle preemptions/make goods in a timely fashion to client and station satisfaction. Analyze client needs and interests. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with assigned/designated agencies and clients through frequent contact in person or electronic communication and promote the station and sell available inventory. Resolve client's issues or complaints. Establish credible relationships with local businesses and their decision makers. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and modern office equipment, & MS Office products required. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. The Sales Account Executive is responsible for generating available local advertising dollars for the station group through the sale of commercial television and digital marketing solutions to advertising agencies or local advertisers. They should bring solutions to these businesses with Nexstar's full suite of media and digital products.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prospect, qualify, develop, close, and grow new digital advertising business.
  • Plan and organize a sales strategy. Monitor and track sales plan and assigned strategies.
  • Prepare quarterly sales revenue budget and target goal and is responsible for achieving budget and sales quotas established with management. Evaluate performance results against goals.
  • Conduct in-depth needs analysis to understand each client's unique advertising goals.
  • Develop and present customized digital & tv advertising solutions.
  • Make in-person presentations to agency buyers and planners or local advertisers.
  • Book orders and negotiate spot placement and rates based on the parameters for rate negotiations set by sales management and the advertiser parameters for each advertising campaign.
  • Serve agencies/clients as a market expert by providing information on the respective platform and the competition.
  • Verify accuracy of clients' scheduled dates and times on a regular basis; verify client's billing based on quoted audience delivery; handle preemptions/make goods in a timely fashion to client and station satisfaction.
  • Analyze client needs and interests. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with assigned/designated agencies and clients through frequent contact in person or electronic communication and promote the station and sell available inventory. Resolve client's issues or complaints.
  • Establish credible relationships with local businesses and their decision makers.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and modern office equipment, & MS Office products required.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Requires demonstrable knowledge of common digital platforms
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and a strong team player.
  • Detail-oriented with problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of digital sales and marketing with experience in social, streaming, SEM, and targeted display or video.
  • Presentation experience, excellent written and verbal communications essential.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or proven work-related experience.
  • Minimum one to two years' experience in business-to-business sales, preferably in digital marketing or the media field. Digital advertising experience required.
  • A strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
