What You’ll Do

• Provide direct patient care on the stepdown/med-surg units, managing diverse case types including CVA/TIA, spinal surgeries, and overflow stepdown patients.
• Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret EKGs, and manage titratable infusions such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, and Heparin.
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and assist with procedures like chest tube management and tracheostomies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and speech therapists.
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR.
• Support unit activities such as phlebotomy, charting, and monitoring patient status.
• Adapt to float assignments across stepdown and med-surg units with patient ratios of 1:3 and 1:5-6.

What You Need

• Required:
  • Valid RN license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
  • Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in acute care
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Preferred:
  • Experience with titratable medications and chest tube management
  • Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and advanced patient procedures
