The Sr. Lead Data Engineer will serve as a keystone on our larger projects, enabling us to deliver solutions hand-in-hand with consultants, data science specialists, and software engineers. The Data Engineer is the universal translator between IT, business, software engineers, creative designers, behavioral science, and Data Scientists, working directly with clients and project teams. S/he works to understand the business problem being solved, the data required to do so, and the tools to make the data impactful. As a Sr. Lead Data Engineer, you will work alongside Oliver Wyman partners in the Digital and other practice groups, engage directly with clients to understand their business challenges, and craft appropriate solutions to be delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of OW Digital specialists and consultants. The Clinical Research Data Specialist is responsible for the compilation, registration and submission of data, monitoring compliance with the protocol, adherence to SOPs, and all applicable regulations and guidelines. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Extracts clinical data and research data from electronic medical records and other sources and enters this data in the clinical paper-based or electronic data capture system for each assigned study. Manages a workload of studies commensurate to level of experience Answers data clarifications (i.e. data queries) for each study. Schedules and meets with study monitors and assures patient cases are ready for each monitor visit and items are addressed after each monitoring visit. Develops source data worksheets specific to each assigned study. Assures clinical issues from monitoring reports are addressed and closed out before the next monitoring visit. THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

No two OW Digital projects are the same. You'll be working with varied and diverse teams to deliver unique and unprecedented products across industries. The Sr. Lead Data Engineer will serve as a keystone on our larger projects, enabling us to deliver solutions hand-in-hand with consultants, data science specialists, and software engineers. The Data Engineer is the universal translator between IT, business, software engineers, creative designers, behavioral science, and Data Scientists, working directly with clients and project teams. S/he works to understand the business problem being solved, the data required to do so, and the tools to make the data impactful. As a Sr. Lead Data Engineer, you will work alongside Oliver Wyman partners in the Digital and other practice groups, engage directly with clients to understand their business challenges, and craft appropriate solutions to be delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of OW Digital specialists and consultants.

Your responsibilities will include, for example:

  • Understanding the overall problem being solved and what flows into it
  • Building tools, platforms, and pipelines to enable teams to clearly and cleanly analyze data, build models, and drive decisions
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Determining and fulfilling functional and non-functional requirements while ensuring alignment with budgetary and financial objectives
  • Scaling up from "laptop-scale" to "cluster scale" problems, in terms of both infrastructure and problem structure and technique
  • Delivering tangible value very rapidly, collaborating with diverse teams of varying backgrounds and disciplines
  • Codifying best practices for future reuse in the form of accessible, reusable patterns, templates, and code bases
  • Engage with stakeholders across various levels to ensure project alignment and manage expectations effectively
  • Collaborating with clients to understand, advise, and recommend on strategic sourcing (internal versus external)
  • Joining colleagues in an Oliver Wyman office or client site at least 50% of the time to collaborate and learn
