Job Description: We are looking for a strategic and data-driven thinker to join our dynamic team at a rapidly growing moving and junk hauling company. This pivotal role will leverage data to drive smarter decision-making across various functions, including marketing, operations, pricing, and customer experience. You will lead a small team, producing work yourself while enhancing the team's skills and productivity.
The ideal candidate is a curious problem-solver with strong analytical skills, capable of transforming raw data into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to define key metrics, build predictive models, and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
- Develop predictive models to enhance forecasting, pricing, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, product, and finance teams to support data-driven decisions.
- Create dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the business.
- Implement data infrastructure and best practices to ensure scalability.
What You'll Do:
Strategy & Planning:
Partner with stakeholders to define business and system requirements for business intelligence (BI) and analytics.
- Collaborate with IT on data architecture and data warehousing strategies.
- Optimize data resource utilization and streamline reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
- Develop staffing and training plans, leveraging automation and offshore resources.
- Drive adoption of BI programs and define key success metrics.
- Implement best practices for high-availability issue resolution and compliance.
Operations:
Develop short- and long-term BI strategies to align with evolving business needs.
- Foster a data-driven culture through self-service analytics and data literacy programs.
- Research and recommend emerging data technologies and innovations.
- Ensure alignment of change management practices with company policies.
- Maintain executive and cross-functional communication to enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent for BI and analytics initiatives as needed
What You Bring:
Experience:
University degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or business administration, with 5+ years of related work experience, including 2+ years in a senior data leadership role.
- Experience with forecasting models and methodologies.
- Experience with AI.
- Proven experience in BI/data warehousing.
- Experience with data analytics platforms such as Tableau and Redshift.
- Proven experience in building and managing virtual teams.
- Proven experience developing business cases, departmental budgets, forecasting, and predictive modeling.
- Home service experience, marketing data, and call center data experience preferred.
Skills:
Highly proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong statistical knowledge and experience with machine learning models.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and experience using project management tools.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in SQL, Python (preferred).
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts in business-friendly language
