This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama or Colorado Springs, Colorado and will support the Sentinel program. Working with the DevStar Data Integration and Analytics (DIA) team involves understanding, developing and delivering metrics capabilities and reports to support both the business and customer needs. DIA is responsible for directly interfacing with segment leads and the Chief Engineering Office to ensure successful implementation of business processes and quality standards across the program. DIA builds and maintains a Python based platform design to interface with many disparate tools and systems to collect and manage data for visualization and pattern development. DIA leverages PostgreSQL RDBMS along with in house design data management patterns to ensure high availability and clean data relationship. In the role of a software engineer, responsibilities include: Direct interfacing and communication with IPT leads and senior managers to ensure complete understanding and implementation of baseline processes and procedures driven by metrics. Understanding the capabilities of the DIAmetrics platform and work to enhance and maintain the platform to ensure consistent and accurate data processing. Helping the DIA team maintain and enhance our product and product backlog to ensure accuracy, speed and relevance of metrics. Assisting the DIA team in creation, updates and delivery of quarterly CDRL deliveries for customer use. Contribute to ongoing review of the Enterprise Data Management Tool hardware and software environments and review security, migration standards/process and alignment within the assigned project. Identify the gap and develop tools/utilities to automate procurement of test data and explore opportunities for automating the existing data mining and synthetic data creation. Provide solution on GBD Facets test data needs across membership, claims and authorizations and perform ETL (Extract, Transformation & Load) data load to eHUB and EDP cloud. Align and coordinate with Application Development stakeholders and responsible for problem solving, budgeting, beam management, project management and delivery for larger initiatives, engaging multi-vendors and technologies. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal / Sr Principal Software Engineer : Metrics Data Engineer - 14908. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama or Colorado Springs, Colorado and will support the Sentinel program.

Working with the DevStar Data Integration and Analytics (DIA) team involves understanding, developing and delivering metrics capabilities and reports to support both the business and customer needs. DIA is responsible for directly interfacing with segment leads and the Chief Engineering Office to ensure successful implementation of business processes and quality standards across the program. DIA builds and maintains a Python based platform design to interface with many disparate tools and systems to collect and manage data for visualization and pattern development. DIA leverages PostgreSQL RDBMS along with in house design data management patterns to ensure high availability and clean data relationship.

In the role of a software engineer, responsibilities include:

  • Direct interfacing and communication with IPT leads and senior managers to ensure complete understanding and implementation of baseline processes and procedures driven by metrics.
  • Understanding the capabilities of the DIAmetrics platform and work to enhance and maintain the platform to ensure consistent and accurate data processing.
  • Helping the DIA team maintain and enhance our product and product backlog to ensure accuracy, speed and relevance of metrics.
  • Assisting the DIA team in creation, updates and delivery of quarterly CDRL deliveries for customer use.

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $158,000.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $196,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
