The GPS Data Engineer for Analytics & AI Enablement (A&AIE) is responsible for leading projects from requirement gathering to deployment in the Enterprise Data Lake. This role involves managing stakeholders, including ITBP, Data Platform owners, and BI&T leads. Additional responsibilities include leading a technical team of developers in designing, building, and operating the GPS Enterprise Data Lake capabilities throughout the technology lifecycle, supporting the Global Product Development Data Enablement BIT organization. The role also includes proposing and implementing automation and improvement ideas to reduce costs and effort. Position Responsibilities: Solution architect to design and model new data enablement projects to enable analysts and scientists' team to take out some insights from data. Based on design and model lead the projects and perform end to end delivery Lead requirement gathering discussions with business to understand the business challenges and design solution. Technical point of contact for AWS services and helps/support technical team to resolve technical issues. Perform code review for provide feedback and fix issues in the code. The GPS Data Engineer for Analytics & AI Enablement (A&AIE) is responsible for leading projects from requirement gathering to deployment in the Enterprise Data Lake. This role involves managing stakeholders, including ITBP, Data Platform owners, and BI&T leads. Additional responsibilities include leading a technical team of developers in designing, building, and operating the GPS Enterprise Data Lake capabilities throughout the technology lifecycle, supporting the Global Product Development Data Enablement BIT organization. The role also includes proposing and implementing automation and improvement ideas to reduce costs and effort.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Solution architect to design and model new data enablement projects to enable analysts and scientists' team to take out some insights from data.
  • Based on design and model lead the projects and perform end to end delivery
  • Lead requirement gathering discussions with business to understand the business challenges and design solution.
  • Technical point of contact for AWS services and helps/support technical team to resolve technical issues.
  • Perform code review for provide feedback and fix issues in the code.
  • Provide technical support to end users to resolve issues specific to AWS services ie Athena, and other AWS services.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies in data and analytics area, perform technical pilots if necessary and share read out with leadership team.
  • Own and maintain git repository for code base.
  • Lead implementation of GxP (validated) projects.
  • Technical SME to operate and develop data and analytics focused capabilities in support of the Product Development Data Enablement BIT Organization
  • Ability to setup data ingestion pipelines in GPS datalakes using AWS services ie glue studio, S3, Lambda
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Hands on experience in Python, AWS services Redshift/S3/ RDS/Athena, Native AWS Services, Database design and familiarity with Domino/data lake principles
  • Come up with automation, innovation ideas and implement them in datalakes
  • Hands on modeling experience to build data models (Conceptual and Logical data models)
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issue

Skill Requirement:

  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience with Information Technology and Information Management systems, designing, implementing, and/or supporting analytic platforms (data warehouse, data hub, ETL/transformations, and/or Business Intelligence) related activities satisfying complex information needs within the life sciences industry
  • Hands-on expertise in AWS technologies and Python
  • Experience with applying AI/ML technologies in data Engineering and analytics
  • Must have broad technology expertise, working knowledge of life sciences manufacturing business processes, with demonstrated command of key concepts, systems, and processes
  • Experience with Big Data, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Visualization, and/or Data Virtualization for both structured and/or unstructured data
  • Experience in working in geographically dispersed teams and virtual collaboration

Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:

  • Prior experience in global life sciences especially in the GPS functional area will be a plus
  • Priori experience in Cloud technologies - preferably AWS and related capabilities such as storage, compute, catalogue, data virtualization will be a huge plus
  • Prior experience working in jira
  • Experience working internationally with a globally dispersed team including diverse stakeholders i.e. offshore technical development team(s)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $134,980 -163,600 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
