Physical Therapist Assistant Job Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist*
• Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve patient mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence*
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and mobility activities*
• Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment responses to the supervising Physical Therapist*
• Educate patients and families regarding home exercise programs and rehabilitation goals*
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements*
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes*
• Ensure patient safety during all treatment sessions*
• Assist in achieving rehabilitation goals and improving overall quality of life for patients

Education & Certification Requirements

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program*
• Current Montana Physical Therapist Assistant License or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date*
• Current PTA certification in good standing*
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred*
• Previous experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, outpatient, hospital, or acute care settings preferred*
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills*
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel therapy experience*
• Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, and geriatric patient populations*
• Strong patient care and clinical skills*
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems*
• Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments
