This service line includes approximately 60 providers representing the full spectrum of neuromusculoskeletal care across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory surgery centers and clinics. The team will collaborate extensively with the Bend-hospital based acute surgery and trauma team in the development, refinement and collaboration of a robust trauma program designed to meet the growing needs of the Central Oregon community. POSITION OVERVIEW: Neurosurgeons are responsible for providing medical, surgical, and postoperative management of patients having orthopedic surgery. Neurosurgeons will work in collaboration with other medical specialties to assess and manage patients following established standards and practices. This position will primarily work in the Bend hospital, Cascade SurgiCenter and Bend Surgery Center performing elective and acute surgeries. Orthopedic Surgeons also see patients in a clinical setting and work collaboratively with APPs in the care of patients. It is up to the physician to determine the appropriate site of care for each patient based on the patients' medical presentation. Work schedule: Physician will have roughly 32 patient facing hours per week as a 1.0FTE which is prorated proportionate to their FTE. This will be a blend of hospital rounding, procedure block time and scheduled clinic visits including charting of patients and other necessary duties, recognizing that the minimum requirement may fluctuate up and down based on direct patient care. Call expectation: Surgeon is expected to participate in the orthopedic call rotation, which is shared equally by the participating Surgeons.
