The Manager will plan routes, schedule deliveries, manage transportation resources, manage drivers, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining a smooth and reliable supply chain. General Responsibilities: 1. Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement transportation plans, schedule routes, and coordinate delivery times for all vehicles and drivers of our fleet. a. This includes all current and future Small Batch customers. 2. Team management: Daily communication with drivers, enforce scheduling, approve hours, conduct training, onboard and off-board drivers as needed. 3. Back up Driver: Serve as back up driver in case of no-shows or as needed for special deliveries. 4. Resource Management: Oversee and manage transportation vehicles, personnel, and resources. 5. Cost Control: Monitor and manage transportation costs, seeking ways to optimize costs. 6. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable transportation regulations and safety standards. 7. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, customers, and other stakeholders. 8. Problem-Solving: Address transportation-related issues and ensure timely resolution of problems. 9. Performance Monitoring: Track transportation performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes. 10. Software and Technology: Utilize Optimo and other technology to streamline operations. 11. Safety Audits: Conduct weekly safety audits and implement safety training programs. 12. Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with transportation providers. Specific Tasks: 1. Fill out closing checklist ensuring all tasks were completed a. Photos taken every day b. All stops made within allotted window c. All stops made within temp d. Vehicles returned in good working condition e. All problems addressed and communicated to supervisor 2. Driver management a. Train drivers to be courteous and trained on the product b. Maintain culture of excellence and white glove delivery standards c. Recommend disciplinary action where necessary d. Ensure drivers are meeting their deadlines, clocking in and out daily e. Ensure drivers are following safety and compliance and process protocols 3. Product Handling a. Ensure whatever is being delivered receives white glove treatment and troubleshoot any damage, breakage or miscount issues to ensure they do not become regular issues. 4. Farmers Market Fleet a. Manage the vehicles and respond to any issues that come up during weekend b. Manage the route to ensure product is effectively delivered to customer standards c. Hold team accountable to highest standards of quality and service 5. Daily debrief with drivers to fill out highly detailed end of day report 6. Weekly cleaning and inspection of vehicles 7. Ensure the delivery days are fully staffed, with on-call and back up schedule 8. Approve PTO and manage schedule and approve hours 9. Address all vehicle maintenance issues in a timely manner a. GPS, Monnit Temp control, Routing Software b. Oil, engine and tire maintenance c. Regular PM service with leasing company (e.g. Ryder) d. Any issues reported by drivers 10. Liaise with Insurance company as needed, for COIs or incidents etc. 11. Schedule and monitor 12. Licenses and registrations updated 13. Optimize the route as new stops or customers are added Physical Requirements & Expectations: 1. You are expected to be able to work alongside the rest of the team, demonstrating proper & safe operational technique. 2. We expect you to be in production for all of your scheduled shifts during the week. 3. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. 4. Position Summary: A Transportation Manager oversees and coordinates the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and people from one location to another. The Manager will plan routes, schedule deliveries, manage transportation resources, manage drivers, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining a smooth and reliable supply chain.

General Responsibilities:

1.    Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement transportation plans, schedule routes, and coordinate delivery times for all vehicles and drivers of our fleet.

a.     This includes all current and future Small Batch customers.

2.     Team management: Daily communication with drivers, enforce scheduling, approve hours, conduct training, onboard and off-board drivers as needed.

3.     Back up Driver: Serve as back up driver in case of no-shows or as needed for special deliveries.

4.    Resource Management: Oversee and manage transportation vehicles, personnel, and resources.

5.    Cost Control: Monitor and manage transportation costs, seeking ways to optimize costs.

6.    Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable transportation regulations and safety standards.

7.    Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, customers, and other stakeholders.

8.    Problem-Solving: Address transportation-related issues and ensure timely resolution of problems.

9.    Performance Monitoring: Track transportation performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.

10. Software and Technology: Utilize Optimo and other technology to streamline operations.

11. Safety Audits: Conduct weekly safety audits and implement safety training programs.

12. Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with transportation providers.

Specific Tasks:

1.     Fill out closing checklist ensuring all tasks were completed

a.     Photos taken every day

b.     All stops made within allotted window

c.     All stops made within temp

d.     Vehicles returned in good working condition

e.     All problems addressed and communicated to supervisor

2.     Driver management

a.     Train drivers to be courteous and trained on the product

b.     Maintain culture of excellence and white glove delivery standards

c.     Recommend disciplinary action where necessary

d.     Ensure drivers are meeting their deadlines, clocking in and out daily

e.     Ensure drivers are following safety and compliance and process protocols

3.     Product Handling

a.     Ensure whatever is being delivered receives white glove treatment and troubleshoot any damage, breakage or miscount issues to ensure they do not become regular issues.

4.     Farmers Market Fleet

a.     Manage the vehicles and respond to any issues that come up during weekend

b.     Manage the route to ensure product is effectively delivered to customer standards

c.     Hold team accountable to highest standards of quality and service

5.     Daily debrief with drivers to fill out highly detailed end of day report

6.     Weekly cleaning and inspection of vehicles

7.     Ensure the delivery days are fully staffed, with on-call and back up schedule

8.     Approve PTO and manage schedule and approve hours

9.     Address all vehicle maintenance issues in a timely manner

a.     GPS, Monnit Temp control, Routing Software

b.     Oil, engine and tire maintenance

c.     Regular PM service with leasing company (e.g. Ryder)

d.     Any issues reported by drivers

10.  Liaise with Insurance company as needed, for COIs or incidents etc.

11.  Schedule and monitor

12.  Licenses and registrations updated

13.  Optimize the route as new stops or customers are added

Physical Requirements & Expectations:

1.     You are expected to be able to work alongside the rest of the team, demonstrating proper & safe operational technique.

2.     We expect you to be in production for all of your scheduled shifts during the week.

3.     Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
