Using a vehicle to successfully transport people, performing pre-trip inspections, performing child checks post-route, and keeping their vehicle within DOT regulations are the most important tasks of the driver. No CDL, no worries. . . We offer paid training to help you obtain your CDL and Passenger endorsement. Training is paid at $15.00 per hour. Once you become fully credentialed you will be paid $16.75 per hour Already have your CDL with P endorsement you are paid $16.75 per hour immediately. The Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting clients in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the organizational mission and vision and in compliance with company policy, state and federal DOT regulations and applicable laws. Specific responsibilities include driving company vehicles, interacting with clients, program personnel, and client support staff in the field, communicating with dispatch in a clear and concise manner, and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in the field. Our Drivers help create a warm and engaging environment for our residents while safely taking them to community outings, personal appointments, and special events.  The Driver must inspect and safely operate community vehicles or van ensuring the safe loading and unloading and timely delivery of residents while complying with all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and Clearwater Living policies and procedures.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00/hour DOE

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and safely transport residents to doctors’ appointments, local outings/excursions and other planned trips as directed by the Lifestyle Director
  • Assist with the safe loading and seating of residents onto and off of the community vehicles(s) making certain that all residents are properly secured before driving
  • Conduct daily inspection and safety checks on vehicle(s) before the first use and following the final use of the day
  • Schedule regular maintenance of all community vehicles as necessary
  • Ensure that the community vehicle/van(s) are in proper operational order, registration and insurance information is present and up-to-date and promptly report any/all safety, mechanical or maintenance issues to supervisor
  • Maintain communication throughout the community with use of cell phone or radio to always remain comprised of resident location and status as necessary
  • Assist with scheduling outings and/or medical appointments as needed, planned property activities and programs within the community between vehicle trips
  • Perform day-to-day clerical work associated with the position including tracking trips/residents, logging maintenance checks, etc.
  • Display a positive and professional image through actions and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
  • Represent the Clearwater Living principles and core value on a daily basis
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or required

Qualifications

  • Ability, licensure and willingness to drive the community vehicles or van
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • AA degree preferred or a minimum of two years of work experience in the industry
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations and the Department of Transportation
  • Must meet health requirements, including TB
  • First Aid/CPR/BLS Certificate required
