Vision sufficiently correctable to permit full performance of all job duties. Must maintain current general physical. Must be able to check all vehicles fluid levels. Ease a client carefully onto the ground, hard surface, or floor to perform CPR. Must be able to push a client in their wheelchair up and down ADA wheelchair ramps. Must be able to lift/manipulate up to 50 pounds from one place to another. Must be able to work on floor of vehicle to attach securement straps to vehicle and wheelchair. Must be able to manually pump up and stow wheelchair platform lift with a client on the platform. Passages to Recovery Driver Department: West Homestead Center Operations Reports To: Facility Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Purpose: The primary function of the Driver is to ensure that participants at the West Homestead Center (WHC), Passages to Recovery’s residential treatment facility, are safely and reliably transported to and from appointments and legal proceedings which they must attend off-site. In addition to transportation duties, the Driver will be responsible for performing general repair, maintenance and custodial tasks at the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Transportation: Transport WHC residents and accompanying staff to and from approved destinations such as medical appointments; court proceedings; appointments with providers, including MOUD providers; recovery support group meetings; and other approved commitments and services. Ensure that residents and staff arrive at destinations on schedule, and that they return to the facility promptly at the conclusion of their authorized activities. Be aware of and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays. Determine the best and most efficient routes, particularly when transporting clients and staff to different and/or multiple destinations. Observe all traffic laws and regulations. Interact with residents, staff and members of the community in a professional manner. Keep agency vehicles clean, safe and organized at all times. Ensure that agency vehicles are always fueled and ready for use. Under direction of the Facility Manager, arrange for vehicle repair, inspection and maintenance as needed. Maintain up-to-date mileage and repair records, as directed. Maintain other documentation required for compliance. Immediately report any accidents or incidents to direct or on call supervisor. Assure that agency vehicles are equipped with a fully stocked first-aid kit, Narcan, and snow removal devices on a weekly basis. Deliver furniture, equipment, mail and documents to Passages locations, including storage facilities. General Repairs and Maintenance: Work with the Compliance Officer, under the direction of the Facility Manager, to ensure that the facility is compliant with contractual and other safety and regulatory requirements. Document needed repairs and resolution of repairs in logs as directed by the Facility Manager and Compliance Officer. Complete basic building upkeep and repairs, including but not limited to painting and basic carpentry. Identify mechanical, plumbing and electrical problems and refer to the Facility Manager for resolution. Maintain facility tools and equipment in good working condition. Inventory, track and refer supply needs to Facility Manager. Update reference materials regarding building, equipment and vehicle operation and maintenance, such as manuals, instructions, logs, etc. Promptly resolve residents’ reports of facility, equipment and furniture malfunctions in common areas, as well as in residents’ sleeping quarters and document the repairs/resolution of each reported issue. Perform scheduled custodial tasks, such as cleaning, snow removal, waste management, restocking supplies, and minor maintenance (for example, changing light bulbs, arranging furniture, etc.) Additional Duties may be assigned as required. Requirements: Valid PA driver's license and up to date auto insurance coverage. Clean driving record. Familiarity with local routes and roads, and/or good navigation skills including use of navigation apps. Excellent time management, including ability to manage time effectively and coordinate various activities during the workday. Good communication skills. Ability to follow directions and adhere to schedules. Physical ability to assist individuals in entering and exiting agency vehicles. Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and repair. Ability to work a daylight schedule Monday through Friday. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; experience working with incarcerated individuals and individuals who are in recovery is a plus. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have, or meet the requirements to obtain, current ACT 33 & 34 Clearances. Must be able to obtain additional clearances as required. Must annually complete all training hours required by Passages’ licenses, contracts and accreditations. Job Description

Non-Exempt/Hourly

Reports to: Transportation County Manager

The mission of PACS is to empower low-income individuals to become self-reliant through community service, assistance, education, and partnerships

Essential Duties

  • Transport passengers as assigned, abiding by all driving laws of the State of Kentucky and/or area where driving
  • Follow all PACS driver policies
  • Complete all necessary paperwork
  • Communicate with dispatch office regularly
  • Wash/vacuum/sweep vehicle daily
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

On the job training for the following. Must be complete within 90 days of hire.

  • CPR certification
  • First Aid certification
  • Bloodborne pathogen certification
  • PACS Driver Training module

Physical Requirements:

  • Assist passengers on and off vehicles.
  • On lift equipped vehicles, must be able to assist wheelchairs and operate lift, on all other vehicles, and must be able to deploy ramps manually.
  • Wide range of mobility including walking, climbing steps to 18-20 inch riser repeatedly, sitting, stooping, bending, and carrying necessary to perform job related activities, and possible evacuation in emergencies.
  • Working in and out of outside temperatures ranging from 0 degree to 100 degrees for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Physically able to perform with degree of dexterity such as holding steering wheel with both hands, pumping own fuel, and the ability to fasten and unfasten passenger seat belts.
  • Must be able to sit behind the steering wheel and maneuver between the seats.
  • Listen and communicate with a 2-way radio or cellular phone.
  • Vision sufficiently correctable to permit full performance of all job duties.
  • Must maintain current general physical.
  • Must be able to check all vehicles fluid levels.
  • Ease a client carefully onto the ground, hard surface, or floor to perform CPR.
  • Must be able to push a client in their wheelchair up and down ADA wheelchair ramps.
  • Must be able to lift/manipulate up to 50 pounds from one place to another.
  • Must be able to work on floor of vehicle to attach securement straps to vehicle and wheelchair.
  • Must be able to manually pump up and stow wheelchair platform lift with a client on the platform.
