Each instructor will teach a safe, effective and fun group exercise class, adhering to class formats and guidelines as set by the Company. Instructors motivate members to get involved in the group exercise program and help members attain and maintain their fitness goals through group exercise. Instructors represent the club's group exercise program in a manner that is professional and supportive, and promote participation in their own classes as well as those of fellow instructors. Instructors also help promote other club programs, events and services to class clientele. Essential Job Functions Review medical history, nursing intake and exercise history/ETT prior to goal setting session. Becomes familiar with patient profiles, with special attention to musculoskeletal function and cardiovascular histories. Calculate target heart range and risk stratification class, when appropriate, prior to six-minute walk test Educate patient in self-monitoring target heart rate (THR) and rate of perceived exertion (RPE) Write exercise prescription for clinic based on results. Document patient response to exercise, heart rate, ECG rhythm and any signs and symptoms a patient may be having. Perform six-minute walk test or sub max exercise tolerance test during initial evaluation and discharge and documents findings Provide patients with guidelines for exercise to be followed at home Document on patient Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) every 30 days; reassessment of exercise goals, response to exercise, discharge planning, and ongoing education of the patient. Group Exercise Instructor The Group Exercise Instructor will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while ensuring that the safety of the members is not compromised. The Group Exercise Instructor will also serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness. Major Responsibilities: Pre-class Preparation: Arrive at class location 10 to 15 minutes ahead of scheduled start time to be available to interact with members, answer questions, inquire about their fitness progress, introduce and orient new participants. Group Exercise Instructors should know their participants on an individual basis and have a good sense of their fitness capabilities. Clothing should be appropriate fitness attire. It should not prohibit participants from seeing proper form, alignment and movement of the body. However, clothing should not be revealing in an inappropriate manner. Proper footwear should be worn at all times. Prepare appropriate music for class. If using multiple tapes, ensure everything is rewound and ready to play when needed. Refrain from using music with offensive language. Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and have microphones ready. During Class Responsibilities: Introduce yourself and the format of the class. Inquire if there are any “first-timers” in the group and if so, assess their fitness level in as private a manner as possible. POSITION SUMMARY:

Group Exercise Instructors teach complimentary group exercise classes to members and guests. Each instructor will teach a safe, effective and fun group exercise class, adhering to class formats and guidelines as set by the Company. Instructors motivate members to get involved in the group exercise program and help members attain and maintain their fitness goals through group exercise. Instructors represent the club's group exercise program in a manner that is professional and supportive, and promote participation in their own classes as well as those of fellow instructors. Instructors also help promote other club programs, events and services to class clientele.
