The Discovery Paralegal will be capable of performing the following duties: The Discovery Paralegal coordinates directly with lead eDiscovery Counsel on current and future eDiscovery matters, reviewing Discovery workflows and policy across the agency. Conduct legal privilege reviews and responsiveness reviews using Adobe Pro, or other eDiscovery review platforms such as Relativity, EverLaw, and eDiscovery Platform (Clearwell) Work alongside the attorneys and IT support teams to ensure data is discoverable as new technologies are presented to the enterprise. Provide professional, accurate, timely, and reliable support across the Office of the General Counsel, Operational and Administrative Divisions, DOJ, and other government agencies. One or more years of progressively more responsible experience performing privilege and other substantive reviews on litigation support projects. Summary of position: Assists in the preparation and filing of design and utility trademark applications in U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. In order to perform one (1) or more essential functions of this role, a minimum of three (3) days in the office is required. Responsibilities: 1. Establishes and maintains trademark files: opens files, prepares formal documents for filing including, abstracts, drawings and preliminary amendments. 2. Reviews all incoming correspondence from foreign associates for essential docketing and for non-substantive responses due in connection with filing of applications. 3. On-going verbal and written communication with foreign associates and attorneys during filing and early prosecution of U.S. Trademark applications. 4. D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Region Paralegal. The right candidate will support the Region Counsel in managing responsibilities of Legal Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the Region Counsel in managing regional litigation. Prepare and maintain database of Region litigation matters; update daily
  • Manage the litigation calendar and litigation case files
  • Under the guidance of Region Counsel, review marketing programs and materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Prepare and maintain contractor's licenses and real estate licenses for division offices
  • Prepare and maintain lease database for regional and division offices
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to travel overnight
  • Assist the Region Counsel with special projects, responding to discovery requests, and addressing homeowner and warranty requests
  • Process Fictitious Business Name Statements for division offices on an as-needed basis

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or six or more years of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
  • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
  • The noise level is generally moderate

  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
