Qualifications: Requires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study. One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate. Additionally, at least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required; trial experience very helpful. Automated litigation support experience valued. The Board of Registration and Medicine within the Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking an experienced Paralegal Specialist. The Paralegal Specialist will prepare legal documents including draft subpoenas and DPH Orders; maintain legal databases; assist attorneys in preparing, editing and proofreading documents and letters; compile and prepare Board and Committee materials; facilitate the hiring of medical expert reviewers, including processing contracts and assisting with compiling documents for expert review; assist the Director of Enforcement, attorneys and investigative staff in carrying out their job duties; and perform related work as required. Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive): Coordinates with attorneys and investigative staff to facilitate the acquisition of medical records, including acting as a liaison to the Department of Public Health (DPH) to acquire DPH Orders, and tracking timely compliance with Orders; reviewing medical records to identify and redact personal identifying information, as needed; and ensuring medical records are maintained consistent with Division protocol. About the Role: The Real Estate Paralegal assists the Company's legal real estate transactional attorneys by providing a wide variety of real estate-oriented paralegal managerial and support functions to a busy real estate transactional practice. (Approximately 35% of time) Act as point-person for Lactalis USA for key legal department vendors BrightFlag, our e-billing platform Luminance, our contract review platform PLI, our CLE platform And other subscription-based vendors Support legal department members' use of the various platforms, answering their questions and seeking solutions from the vendors Help draft monthly reports on actual spend of the legal department compared to budget Stay informed about technology developments in the legal field, and identify new technology tools for possible adoption Data Privacy and ADA Compliance. (Approximately 25% of time) Monitor state and federal laws relating to data privacy, particularly with respect to the privacy policies and cookie practices of the web sites of the cheese divisions Work with outside counsel to amend web site privacy policies, as necessary Ensure that the web sites of the cheese divisions remain ADA compliant Flag aspects of new state and federal data privacy laws that impact other functions (e.g. human resources) to the appropriate attorney Intellectual Property. Position Summary KIND seeks a Paralegal who will be responsible for supporting KIND's delivery of legal services through a range of case support tasks in coordination with our attorneys. Paralegals are responsible for conducting client intakes, legal research, preparation of immigration forms, drafting affidavits, maintaining files and data, hearing preparation, social services referrals, and other related duties. The Paralegal reports to the Staff or Senior Attorney. This position is contingent upon continued funding. Essential Functions Provides support to attorneys, including conducting legal research; fills out immigration benefits and other standard forms; drafts affidavits and basic motions; assists with hearing and interview preparation; maintains case files and data entry in the case management database; and other tasks as needed. As a CGS Paralegal, you will work under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor. You will provide litigation and administrative support to a group of United States Attorneys.   • Collects court ordered restitutions and fines of criminal and civil defendants.
  • Drafts legal documents, and files legal documents using the Electronic Court Filing system (ECF),

  • Manages and tracks collection activity in an internal database.

  • Performs routine document center support functions, such as photocopying, delivering items, assembling notebooks, including pulling file copies of documents, tabbing binders, numbering, binding, labeling, re[1]filing documents and shelving, packing boxes and preparing them for shipment, bate stamping, retrieving case materials, completing log sheet, answer phones, logging messages, and faxing information.
  • Provides trial preparation assistance to AUSAs by independently compiling trial notebooks, preparing jury instructions, drafting witness, and exhibit lists.
  • Opening new case files, closing case files, organizing case files, and record material for disposition or storage.
  • Maintains calendar of active cases and assigned AUSAs by scheduling appointments, interviews, conferences, providing reminders of commitments and court appearances.
  • Assist AUSAs in producing discovery to defense council.
  • Maintains, manages, and organizes case material utilizing software, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
  • Sorts incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail including packaging boxes for shipment.
  • Filing pleadings using the Electronic Court Filing system (ECF).
  • Produces a variety of written documents using templates ad materials utilizing a range of office software applications.
  • Completes all aspects of travel in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and Department of Justice (DOJ) policies, including traveling arrangements, submitting authorizations, completing vouchers, and submitting local mileage claims.
  • Sorts incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail including packaging boxes for shipment.

Qualifications:

  • Requires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
  • One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate.
  • Additionally, at least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required; trial experience very helpful.
  • Automated litigation support experience valued. Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
  • Role also requires basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
  • Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
