The MDDU Equipment Support maintains the readiness of CBRN detection equipment and conducts nation-wide technical CBRN detection operations, training, and exercises to augment and train capability of Federal, state, and local law enforcement partners. This position is contract award dependent. Position Requirements: Duties will include but are not limited to the following. Track and maintain care, custody, and control of MDDU equipment, including detection equipment, and radioactive sources. Conduct inventories of DHS MDDU property and update computerized tracking information as required. Ensure MDDU equipment is repaired, calibrated, and maintained in a ready state for deployment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. This includes conducting field level routine repairs in consultation with equipment manufacturers and designated subcontracting repair companies. Safely handle, use, transport, and ship radioactive sources following federal regulations including those requirements of the Department of Transportation. Perform work as a "radiation worker." Core Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently utilize packaging equipment.
  • Utilize computerized screens to set-up and operate equipment
  • Produce packages suitable for shipping
  • Read and understand product descriptions.
  • Consistently meet established company production and service level standards.
  • Utilize good housekeeping processes.
  • Utilize effective food safety measures and adhere to GMP's.
  • Utilize operational processes to minimize damage and other areas of waste.
  • Inform supervisor of any differences in product quality.
  • On Sanitation nights, use chemicals and tools to effectively clean and sanitize equipment following SSOP's

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • This position requires the ability to read, write and communicate in English. English is needed to carry out the following tasks: (1) read and understand procedure manuals, signs and box labels; (2) work with warehouse computer systems; (3) complete written documents relating to company procedures; and (4) communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors about day-to-day operations.
  • Previous experience in food production/packaging is highly preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally during shift.
  • Ability to consistently meet minimum production standards and company service levels.
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to operate pallet jack and other required materials handling equipment (MHE).
