Paralegal - Washington, DC

Duration: 12+ months, Onsite

Responsibilities :

• Work under the direction of Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor
• Compile, prepare, and summarize materials for use by attorneys
• Summarize depositions and transcripts
• Maintain case files and perform simple legal research
• Index, track, and control document discovery
• Assist attorneys in courtroom
• Review documents for relevance and privilege
• Compile documents for FOIA, production requests, etc.

Required Skills:

• At least one year of litigation paralegal or project experience
• Automated litigation support experience valued
• Basic legal knowledge and experience with legal research tools like LEXIS and Westlaw
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with computer applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging)
• Knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure

Education:

• Paralegal certificate, JD, or completion of at least one year at an ABA-accredited law school
• One year of legal training or experience, or two years of college education may substitute for paralegal certificate
