KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The FM3 (Specialist/Refrigeration Technician) is responsible for ensuring maximum availability for the production plant across the Sourcing Unit by utilizing excellent technical skills for improvements, modifications and sound application for maintenance task directly related closed loop refrigeration. The FM3 is responsible for operations and maintenance of all equipment associated with Engineering Department including the focus on Ammonia Refrigeration system, Steam Generating system, compressed air system, and facility electrical distribution system. All actions must contribute to the delivery of operational KPIs (Productivity, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, Cost, Delivery) FM3 must be a mentally agile and an advanced problem solver who is able to maximize machinery operations whilst minimizing equipment downtime. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: SKILLS: Closed Loop Refrigeration Skills- Comprehensive technical knowledge encompassing thermal dynamics, electrical, mechanical, and all aspects of troubleshooting complex ammonia equipment problems. HAZMAT Competencies - for emergency response pertaining to the ammonia refrigeration systems. Mechanical Skills- Focused Technician; knowledge and application of technical skills and expertise to ensure the provision of effective engineering support within team, focused on delivering performance targets. Directly contributes to improved safety, quality, sustainability, and cost. Preventative Maintenance Specialist and user of Condition Based Monitoring. Fully Operational on Mechanisms, Motion. Electrical Skills and Diagnostic Technician; Remove and replace major electrical components (such as motors, switch/control gear) and troubleshoot electrical circuits safely. Able to isolate machinery and re-install electrical supplies for machinery components. Establish power distribution systems and electrical control circuits. Install electrical drive systems and Control Loops. Instrumentation and Control Skills. Demonstrate an understanding of the Internal Architecture of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) Amend control and software documentation. Manage PLC and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Networks (eg Programme modifications, Force Devices and fault finding). Shop Tools- Knowledge, Skills and Proficient with maintenance shop tools. Safety- Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team. Environment- Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials. Quality- Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with local Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product. Leadership- Promote the development of a highly effective team through strong communication, leading by example whilst keeping focused on goals and targets. Great teams and great leaders will achieve superior performance. Continuous Improvement- Use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production area. Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses. UMS- Knowledge and understanding of the key principles of UMS and the impact this has on the Key Performance Indicators in the production area (PQSCDMI); must understand the critical inter-relation between UMS and TPM. Problem Solving- Has the ability to identify, prioritize and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence. Project Management- Achieve the desired outcomes of the project in line with agreed plans using appropriate project management tools and techniques to ensure the efficient use of technical, financial and human resources. Business Awareness- Understanding of the need to meet changing demands and the role of marketing and product innovation in growing the business and increasing the company's share. EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma required. Higher education preferred. Extended education/training/experience with a closed loop refrigeration system. 2 years minimum experience with closed loop refrigeration system. Extended education/training/experience with HAZMAT pertaining to ammonia refrigeration system. 2 years minimum experience with Facility Utility equipment and process. Experience of working as part of an extended team within the manufacturing sector. Strong coaching and communication skills. Proven analytical skills. Experience of manufacturing in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Company and World Class Manufacturing. Experience as a team member within a project Management team with an awareness of project management tools and techniques. Good knowledge of electrical systems, mechanics, hydraulics, facilities, pneumatics and related components. Proficient in MS office Suite applications, strong emphasis on Work and Excel. Ability to work with and lead teams comprised of all personnel levels Ability to comprehend machine manuals and drawings with a clear interpretation of their meaning Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel. Good general shop knowledge Proficient knowledge of parts and materials as well as their nomenclature. Good math skills Ability to compose reports to effectively communicate results /conclusions Must be well organized utilizing sound 5S principles Working Environment: Work is performed on the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, noise, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear. Physical requirements: Machine Operators require a level of agility to move quickly between workstations, ascend and descend steps often carrying loads. Assembly and control operations also require a level of hand eye coordination and finger dexterity. Monitoring and Quality assurance tasks require an adequate level of sight and smell. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The FM3 (Specialist/Refrigeration Technician) is responsible for ensuring maximum availability for the production plant across the Sourcing Unit by utilizing excellent technical skills for improvements, modifications and sound application for maintenance task directly related closed loop refrigeration. The FM3 is responsible for operations and maintenance of all equipment associated with Engineering Department including the focus on Ammonia Refrigeration system, Steam Generating system, compressed air system, and facility electrical distribution system. All actions must contribute to the delivery of operational KPIs (Productivity, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, Cost, Delivery) FM3 must be a mentally agile and an advanced problem solver who is able to maximize machinery operations whilst minimizing equipment downtime.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • SKILLS: Closed Loop Refrigeration Skills- Comprehensive technical knowledge encompassing thermal dynamics, electrical, mechanical, and all aspects of troubleshooting complex ammonia equipment problems.
  • HAZMAT Competencies - for emergency response pertaining to the ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Mechanical Skills- Focused Technician; knowledge and application of technical skills and expertise to ensure the provision of effective engineering support within team, focused on delivering performance targets. Directly contributes to improved safety, quality, sustainability, and cost.
  • Preventative Maintenance Specialist and user of Condition Based Monitoring.
  • Fully Operational on Mechanisms, Motion.
  • Electrical Skills and Diagnostic Technician; Remove and replace major electrical components (such as motors, switch/control gear) and troubleshoot electrical circuits safely. Able to isolate machinery and re-install electrical supplies for machinery components.
  • Establish power distribution systems and electrical control circuits.
  • Install electrical drive systems and Control Loops.
  • Instrumentation and Control Skills.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Internal Architecture of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Amend control and software documentation.
  • Manage PLC and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Networks (eg Programme modifications, Force Devices and fault finding).
  • Shop Tools- Knowledge, Skills and Proficient with maintenance shop tools.
  • Safety- Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team.
  • Environment- Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.
  • Quality- Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with local Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product.
  • Leadership- Promote the development of a highly effective team through strong communication, leading by example whilst keeping focused on goals and targets. Great teams and great leaders will achieve superior performance.
  • Continuous Improvement- Use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production area. Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses.
  • UMS- Knowledge and understanding of the key principles of UMS and the impact this has on the Key Performance Indicators in the production area (PQSCDMI); must understand the critical inter-relation between UMS and TPM.
  • Problem Solving- Has the ability to identify, prioritize and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.
  • Project Management- Achieve the desired outcomes of the project in line with agreed plans using appropriate project management tools and techniques to ensure the efficient use of technical, financial and human resources.
  • Business Awareness- Understanding of the need to meet changing demands and the role of marketing and product innovation in growing the business and increasing the company's share.

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Higher education preferred.
  • Extended education/training/experience with a closed loop refrigeration system.
  • 2 years minimum experience with closed loop refrigeration system.
  • Extended education/training/experience with HAZMAT pertaining to ammonia refrigeration system.
  • 2 years minimum experience with Facility Utility equipment and process.
  • Experience of working as part of an extended team within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong coaching and communication skills.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Experience of manufacturing in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Company and World Class Manufacturing.
  • Experience as a team member within a project Management team with an awareness of project management tools and techniques.
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems, mechanics, hydraulics, facilities, pneumatics and related components.
  • Proficient in MS office Suite applications, strong emphasis on Work and Excel.
  • Ability to work with and lead teams comprised of all personnel levels
  • Ability to comprehend machine manuals and drawings with a clear interpretation of their meaning
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
  • Good general shop knowledge
  • Proficient knowledge of parts and materials as well as their nomenclature.

Working Environment:

Work is performed on the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, noise, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.

Physical requirements:

Machine Operators require a level of agility to move quickly between workstations, ascend and descend steps often carrying loads. Assembly and control operations also require a level of hand eye coordination and finger dexterity. Monitoring and Quality assurance tasks require an adequate level of sight and smell.

Ability to stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds several times per hour.
