A day in the life. As our Loss Control Consultant on the Business Insurance team, you'll provide risk management, loss prevention, and safety related services that will assist our clients in the identification and remediation of various related hazards with an emphasis on employee safety within workers' compensation, auto, and property coverages. Your typical tasks will include written program review, jobsite audits and research. You will also provide training on client and industry specific safety related topics. Your role will serve a client base of various industries within the St. Louis metropolitan area with occasional overnight travel required. These services are provided through phone consultations and on-site visits. You also may represent the Department and our services to prospective clients in conjunction with producers. We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills: Bachelor's degree in safety management or related discipline 5-10 years insurance loss control, insurance property and/or safety management experience with construction, manufacturing and related industries Knowledge of OSHA regulations for construction and general industry, loss control "best practices" and workers compensation programs These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply: Master's degree in safety management or related discipline Certified Safety Professional or ability to acquire within first 2 years of employment (employer paid certification) Experience in Property Insurance and Risk Engineering Knowledge of loss control strategies related to vehicle operations, fire prevention, general liability, etc Knowledge of DOT, NFPA, ANSI and Industrial Hygiene Practices Property & Casualty Insurance Producers License (will be required to obtain post-hire - employer paid) We know there are excellent candidates who might not check all of these boxes. Your role will serve a client base of various industries within the St. Louis metropolitan area with occasional overnight travel required. These services are provided through phone consultations and on-site visits. You also may represent the Department and our services to prospective clients in conjunction with producers.

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management or related discipline
  • 5-10 years insurance loss control, insurance property and/or safety management experience with construction, manufacturing and related industries
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations for construction and general industry, loss control "best practices" and workers compensation programs

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

  • Master's degree in safety management or related discipline
  • Certified Safety Professional or ability to acquire within first 2 years of employment (employer paid certification)
  • Experience in Property Insurance and Risk Engineering
  • Knowledge of loss control strategies related to vehicle operations, fire prevention, general liability, etc
  • Knowledge of DOT, NFPA, ANSI and Industrial Hygiene Practices
  • Property & Casualty Insurance Producers License (will be required to obtain post-hire - employer paid)
