Account Executive, Clinical & Specialty Services Position Summary: Catalent Pharma Solutions is recruiting for an Account Executive, Particle Size Engineering. This position will be field-based and will be responsible for covering either a specific geography (in this case the Pacific coast region) or a portfolio of accounts. As an Account Executive, you will join our dynamic Business Development Team and your primary role is to evaluate and assess contract development and manufacturing opportunities with customers with micronization business. The Business Development function is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing new development, tech transfer, and commercial supply business for particle size engineering or micronization products with new customers, and for managing business relationships and growing business with existing customers. The Role: Identify, qualify, and pursue particle size engineering or micronization business opportunities within the assigned portfolio of accounts (current customers and prospects). Identify key account decision-makers and influencers. Prepare well for calls/visits, anticipating and addressing barriers. Document and validate customer needs before presenting solutions. In cooperation with R&D and Contract Management, prepare and present quotations for project development work to customers. Cooperate with management, commercial operations, legal and finance teams in the preparation and negotiation of any development agreements and all commercial supply agreements. Manage the business relationships with assigned customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, pricing, contract extensions/amendments, forecasting, periodic business review meetings, and support of other customer service-related issues. Prioritize time on the right opportunities to maximize results. Other tasks as assigned. The Candidate: BA/BS degree in a scientific discipline, business, or related field (MS, MBA, or Ph.D. is preferred). A minimum of 3 years of combined business development/sales and scientific/technical experience in the pharmaceutical contract service sales (CDMO), pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries. Experience/understanding of the proposal development process, business quotes, budgeting, and managing to defined timelines. Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiating skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required, experience with Salesforce.com is a plus. The ability to work effectively as a member of cross-functional teams is required. The ability to interact effectively with scientists and technical staff from customers and within the Catalent organization is required. A proven track record with new account penetration is required. Proven ability to organize and plan work, manage travel, and balance multiple priorities effectively is required. We are looking for a candidate who would ideally be based on the West Coast but should be able to live in close proximity to an airport. Must be willing and able to travel up to 75% to visit as well as meet with in Catalent's manufacturing facility in Malvern, PA and other locations as needed. Core Functions: Follows all plant safety procedures and uses all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE). Holds other team members accountable to follow all safety procedures. Operates all machinery required following safety guidelines; machinery can include benders, roll formers, wrappers, slitters, shears, forklifts, and other machines as assigned. Follows all setup procedures and work instructions as documented in the Operations System. Completes all quality checks as documented; makes adjustments and re-produces product as needed to provide accurate and damage-free product to the customer. Completes all daily orders in assigned area. Meets or exceeds area's goals including safety, productivity, scrap, on-time delivery, and accuracy. Performs daily operator preventive maintenance checks, as assigned. Reports all machinery issues to Maintenance promptly. Cleans and resets work area at the end of each shift, including but not limited to sweeping the floor, placing items in the proper storage area, stacking pallets, restocking packaging, and dumping trash. Accurately updates all records and visual tracking, whether written or electronic (e.g., coil footage, cover sheets). Cross-trains as directed and is willing to work at any production position in the plant, on an as needed basis. Participates in monthly inventory. Key Measures of Success: Ability to operate assigned task and cross-train in at least two additional work tasks. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Customer and detailed oriented. Exhibits a continuous improvement mindset with ability to verbalize ideas for process and work flow improvements. Position Summary:

Catalent Pharma Solutions is recruiting for an Account Executive, Particle Size Engineering. This position will be field-based and will be responsible for covering either a specific geography (in this case the Pacific coast region) or a portfolio of accounts.

As an Account Executive, you will join our dynamic Business Development Team and your primary role is to evaluate and assess contract development and manufacturing opportunities with customers with micronization business. The Business Development function is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing new development, tech transfer, and commercial supply business for particle size engineering or micronization products with new customers, and for managing business relationships and growing business with existing customers.

The Role:

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue particle size engineering or micronization business opportunities within the assigned portfolio of accounts (current customers and prospects).

  • Identify key account decision-makers and influencers.

  • Prepare well for calls/visits, anticipating and addressing barriers.

  • Document and validate customer needs before presenting solutions.

  • In cooperation with R&D and Contract Management, prepare and present quotations for project development work to customers.

  • Cooperate with management, commercial operations, legal and finance teams in the preparation and negotiation of any development agreements and all commercial supply agreements.

  • Manage the business relationships with assigned customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, pricing, contract extensions/amendments, forecasting, periodic business review meetings, and support of other customer service-related issues.

  • Prioritize time on the right opportunities to maximize results.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

The Candidate:

  • BA/BS degree in a scientific discipline, business, or related field (MS, MBA, or Ph.D. is preferred).

  • A minimum of 3 years of combined business development/sales and scientific/technical experience in the pharmaceutical contract service sales (CDMO), pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.

  • Experience/understanding of the proposal development process, business quotes, budgeting, and managing to defined timelines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiating skills are required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required, experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.

  • The ability to work effectively as a member of cross-functional teams is required.

  • The ability to interact effectively with scientists and technical staff from customers and within the Catalent organization is required.

  • A proven track record with new account penetration is required.

  • Proven ability to organize and plan work, manage travel, and balance multiple priorities effectively is required.

  • We are looking for a candidate who would ideally be based on the West Coast but should be able to live in close proximity to an airport.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 75% to visit as well as meet with in Catalent's manufacturing facility in Malvern, PA and other locations as needed.

  • A thorough understanding of Rx softgel or oral solid-dose manufacturing is a plus

Pay:

The annual pay range for this position in California is $72,630 - $111,000
