Upon successful completion of the 18-24 month licensed training program (classroom phase), incumbents will be qualified to provide technical and operational leadership to assist with the supervision of licensed and non-licensed nuclear operators on an assigned shift. The training for licensure as a Unit Supervisor will include: Preparation for exercising control over the conduct of maintenance operations on all plant equipment during the shift. Ensuring shift operations are conducted in accordance with requirements of the license, technical specifications, and station procedures. Providing operational oversight for nuclear reactor, turbine generator equipment, related systems and computer controls. Responsibilities may also include interfacing with transmission facility during assigned shift. Preparation for coordinating operational activities required to support normal or abnormal conditions, maintenance evaluations, and testing of equipment, monitoring and evaluating operators in the development and continuing training programs. May be required to become a member of the Emergency Response Organization. Upon being licensed, a SRO may be designated to relieve the Shift Manager and to assume command and control of the Unit. Duties, at all times, will include responsibility for the safe operation of assigned plant and the protection of personnel, both plant and civilian. Unit Supervisor trainees will direct the work of licensed and non-licensed operators during 520 hours of in plant time during training with a licensed SRO providing oversight of their activities. Once licensed, incumbents will be authorized to make decisions regarding shutting down the plant due to emergent problems. At all times, the SRO must demonstrate leadership and sincere attention to all matters affecting nuclear safety. They must be skilled in giving clear work direction, making decisions, and problem resolution. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience A total of seven years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience. In addition to the above requirement, one of the following must be met: Non-Degreed Candidate: 12 month or more experience as an active reactor operator or senior reactor operator at a commercial power reactor facility of the same vendor or vintage, or 18 months or more as an active reactor operator or senior reactor operator at a comparable PWR facility or noncomparable commercial power reactor facility, or 18 months or more in a position equivalent to reactor operator position at a military reactor (qualified to manipulate or direct the manipulation of control rods). Qualifying title include: Reactor Operator, Engineering Officer of the Watch, Propulsion Watch Office, Engineering Watch Supervisor, Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor. Degreed Candidate: BS degree or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology or related sciences with nuclear power plant staff experience for at least 18 months for a comparable facility, 27 months for a noncomparable facility, or Nuclear power plant staff experience can include: plant equipment controls; integrated operations procedures; operations; maintenance; engineering; radiological support; modifications; maintenance planning; work control; chemistry; or accredited training. Scope:

  • The Supervisor is responsible for all operational activities within the assigned departments to produce high quality products in compliance with customer requirements and schedules. This position reports to the Manager, Production.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the assigned unit through effective selection, training and evaluation of members and through effective delegation and follow-up of tasks.

  • Schedules and assigns work within the unit to regulate workflow and meet required schedules.

  • Provides technical assistance, supervision and hands-on operation as necessary to drive process improvements and enhancements throughout the unit.

  • Identifies problems in product, equipment, quality, safety and/or employee relations.

  • Conducts monthly toolbox safety meetings, attend supervisors' safety meetings, and order safety products (i.e. gloves, shoes, aprons etc).

  • Participates in current engineering projects, "SPC" statistical product controls, and preventative maintenance (daily, weekly, and monthly).

  • Responsible for machinery yearly calibrations, scheduling, PM's, audits, customer requests, ISO 9002, and safety.

  • Updates departmental procedures, sign off employees, and maintains training.

  • Conducts 5S Audits.

  • Ensures timely responses and preparation for all MQC's and internal CAR responses.

  • Responsible for meeting department goals, corrective action, and department cleanliness.

  • Ensures timely responses to all levels of management, including peers.

  • Monitors and approves attendance in KRONOS, including scheduled PTO and ensures adherence to the Attendance Policy. Issues disciplinary warnings when required.

  • Generates, accumulates, and handles hazardous wastes generated in daily operations, as directed by the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager.

  • Immediately communicates any safety or environmental concerns to management as well as recommendations for solutions

  • Responsible for environmental, safety and general housekeeping of the department, for the adherence to the quality and continuous improvement policy of the department, for emergency response efforts and evacuation of building personnel, and responsible during an emergency.

  • Responsibilities include the reporting of all accidents, near misses and safety concerns. Perform their job duties utilizing the required and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Education and Experience:

Education:

  • High school diploma plus five years of related, demonstrated leadership experience; or Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience preferred.

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or a technical environment. Experience working with printed circuit board assembly processes desired.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
