We are looking for talented Physics and Engineering interns to join our team this summer. You will work on exciting plasma physics projects including diagnostics, mathematics, testing and calibration, numerical simulation, and computational projects. This is a great opportunity for future scientists, physicists, and mechanical/electrical engineers to contribute to cutting-edge scientific research in fusion plasma physics in a professional environment. You will get to work alongside industry experts in our Fusion Science and Engineering teams. Successful projects may be eligible for presentation at conferences or journal publications. TAE offers hands-on education to interns of all levels, undergraduate and graduate experience level.

About the Role:

Our interns will assist TAE scientists and engineers with their work in one or more of the following areas:

• Plasma Diagnostics and Simulation
• Lasers and Optics
• Electronics and Magnetics
• Applied Plasma Physics
• Particle Fueling and Acceleration
• Physics Informed Machine Learning
• Computation Materials Science
• Experimental Operations
• Mechanical Engineering

About You:

We are looking for both undergraduate and graduate level students with excellent research and presentation skills who are majoring in physics, applied mathematics, material science, mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, or electrical engineering. Python or Matlab programming experience will be desirable for Science and Simulation projects/data. Some experience using Machine Learning and/or Computation Science methods to develop models is desirable.

We are seeking Interns to work onsite at our office location, Monday through Friday. All interns will be paid an hourly wage. Interns will be responsible for their own transportation and housing in Orange County, CA.
