Provides supervision, leadership, and guidance to other leaders and staff in goal setting, problem solving, resource management, outcome achievement, and promotion of team cohesion. Evaluates performance objectives and metrics for the center and assesses the level of competence of staff in a timely manner. Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage change effectively, as well as help others do the same. Demonstrates fiscal accountability for center resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources. Incorporates quality improvement data and/or patient satisfaction data into center goals. Demonstrates a clear understanding of regulations applicable to patient care and/or other center functions. Effectively oversees the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and committees. Appropriately documents all requested reports for benchmarking, scorecards, and meeting minutes in a timely manner. Maintain budget items assigned by leadership: Hours / case, pharmaceutical expenses, and any other assigned areas. Works in collaboration with Materials Manager to manage effectively manage supply costs and cost-savings initiatives. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities. About the unit We are a 64 bed Inpatient Rehab Unit that sees a variety of patients who need to work on both their functional and medical problems. We treat ortho patients recovering from hip fractures, complex knee replacement, back surgery with neurologic involvement, multi-trauma, and other orthopedic issues. We also see neurology patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord tumors, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Parkinson’s, MS, and any cancer diagnosis with functional decline. We also have patients come to our unit who had amputations and other complex medical/surgical issues with functional decline. Patients participate in 15 hours of therapy across the 7-day week. Nursing continues the interventions practiced by the patients in therapy sessions, to continue safe mobility. For many of our patients, Rehab is the key to getting back home with their families. Under the direction of the Administrator, the Clinical Director of Nursing has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the center and their effect on patient care.  The Clinical Director of Nursing has authority to make decisions in the center in the areas of patient care, human resource and clinical financial management. The Clinical Director of Nursing has overall responsibility for clinical operations within the center. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with patients, physicians, management, and staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to build teams.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing
