Demonstrates team and individual behaviors that support positive change within the culture of TW on a consistent basis. Assumes responsibility and accountability for resident care according to professional standards of nursing practice, consistent with the person-centered philosophy of TW and state and federal laws and regulations. Plans and organizes course of action for self and staff to ensure work throughout the Health Center is completed in an accurate and efficient manner. Maintains quality working relationships and communications with staff involved in providing care and/or services to the residents. Develops and oversees development of nursing policies. Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities for the Health Center households. Compares data from sources to draw conclusions while optimizing approaches for developing courses of action and solutions. Meets with families and residents to properly assess residents’ care needs and resolve any issues at hand. Reviews staff and resident complaints and/or grievances and makes oral or written recommendations. Follows up with all issues in a timely manner. Coordinates and collaborates with the Dining Services, Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments as their duties apply to the Health Center households. Regulation Compliance Maintains compliance with TW policies and procedures in accordance with governing laws, regulations, and regulatory agencies. Complies with all accreditation bodies and facility standards. Maintains current knowledge of all state and federal health regulations and maintains appropriate documents. Works with the Vice President of Health Services to monitor staff compliance with all federal and state regulations. Ensures timely documentation and reporting of applicable events to state agencies. Ensures state and federal quality standards are upheld. Audits and educates to maintain compliance and readiness for State survey. Leadership and Management Acts as a leader and manager of assigned positions within the Health Center households; ensuring productivity, efficiency and accuracy in work performed. Models effective self-management, demonstrating accountability and holding staff accountable. Creates an environment to facilitate open, respectful communication and is open and accessible to all staff. Screens, interviews, and hires new Health Center household employees as needed. Serves as coach and mentor to members of the team. Provides regular, respectful, honest feedback, both positive and negative, in the evaluation process. Performs timely and insightful employee reviews. Establishes and maintains a supportive and successful on-boarding process for new employees, and ongoing in-service programs ensuring that all employees have the proper knowledge and training to be safe and successful in their jobs. Deals effectively with others in situations of conflict. Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict between two or more individuals. Develops and maintains positive medical staff and vendor relationships. Establishes and updates policies and procedures pertaining to resident care as appropriate. Additional Responsibilities Meets all resident and household needs by actively assisting (to the extent of cross training and certification) in all tasks of the household. Ensures that resident rights and responsibilities are honored and met. Monitors the community and household response to resident concerns through continuous quality improvement. Job Description

Job Requirements:

  • Current Oklahoma Nursing License.  RN with focus in health care management/nursing. BSN, MSN preferred.
  • Two years of nursing management experience preferred. Long term care administration experience preferred.
  • Possess high-quality verbal and written communications ability along with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.  Proven self-management skills are required.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with history of developing a cohesive team with a focus on quality and excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal health regulations.
  • Proficient in the operation of computer applications.

Responsibilities:

Departmental Oversight

Oversees all resident care provided by the Health Center households on a daily basis and ensures effective and efficient daily operations and functions.

  • Coordinates with the Vice President of Health Services to establish departmental goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates team and individual behaviors that support positive change within the culture of TW on a consistent basis.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for resident care according to professional standards of nursing practice, consistent with the person-centered philosophy of TW and state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Plans and organizes course of action for self and staff to ensure work throughout the Health Center is completed in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Maintains quality working relationships and communications with staff involved in providing care and/or services to the residents.
  • Develops and oversees development of nursing policies.
  • Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities for the Health Center households.  Compares data from sources to draw conclusions while optimizing approaches for developing courses of action and solutions.
  • Meets with families and residents to properly assess residents’ care needs and resolve any issues at hand. Reviews staff and resident complaints and/or grievances and makes oral or written recommendations. Follows up with all issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the Dining Services, Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments as their duties apply to the Health Center households.

     

  • Regulation Compliance

    • Maintains compliance with TW policies and procedures in accordance with governing laws, regulations, and regulatory agencies.  Complies with all accreditation bodies and facility standards.
    • Maintains current knowledge of all state and federal health regulations and maintains appropriate documents. Works with the Vice President of Health Services to monitor staff compliance with all federal and state regulations.
    • Ensures timely documentation and reporting of applicable events to state agencies. Ensures state and federal quality standards are upheld. Audits and educates to maintain compliance and readiness for State survey.

     

    Leadership and Management

    Acts as a leader and manager of assigned positions within the Health Center households; ensuring productivity, efficiency and accuracy in work performed.

    • Models effective self-management, demonstrating accountability and holding staff accountable.
    • Creates an environment to facilitate open, respectful communication and is open and accessible to all staff.
    • Screens, interviews, and hires new Health Center household employees as needed.
    • Serves as coach and mentor to members of the team.  Provides regular, respectful, honest feedback, both positive and negative, in the evaluation process. Performs timely and insightful employee reviews.
    • Establishes and maintains a supportive and successful on-boarding process for new employees, and ongoing in-service programs ensuring that all employees have the proper knowledge and training to be safe and successful in their jobs.
    • Deals effectively with others in situations of conflict.  Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict between two or more individuals.
    • Develops and maintains positive medical staff and vendor relationships. 
    • Establishes and updates policies and procedures pertaining to resident care as appropriate.

     

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Meets all resident and household needs by actively assisting (to the extent of cross training and certification) in all tasks of the household.
    • Ensures that resident rights and responsibilities are honored and met.
    • Monitors the community and household response to resident concerns through continuous quality improvement.
    • Maintains professional presence when representing Trinity Woods; exhibits degree of professionalism consistent with standards in performance, behavior, and appearance.
    • Demonstrates professional development/skills competency in all activities.
    • Complies with Trinity Woods’ established safety rules and practices.
