This course will build upon previous nursing and liberal arts coursework to develop a foundation for nursing practice. Through a combination of classroom and clinical learning, the student will develop an understanding of the complex needs of the populations to be served. The student will learn the principles of the nursing process; person-centered and holistic care; communication; compassionate care; ethics; health promotion; identification and reduction of risk; basic elements of care and comfort; and quality and safety. Clinical content will allow the student to begin building their evidence-based foundation for future nursing practice through the learning and demonstration of basic nursing skills and assessment techniques. Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess a Master's degree in Nursing or related field. Teaching experience in secondary school or college is a plus. An active unencumbered Vermont RN licensure or eligibility for an unencumbered Vermont license required. A valid driver's license is required. Salary: Hourly- $45 holding a BSN if enrolled in an MSN program. $50 hour holding an MSN. This includes, but is not limited to, working 1:1 with students to develop a plan of study, responding to Starfish notifications for these students, connecting students with campus resources, etc. As part of the New Student Orientation process, assist in the delivery of advising support services for new incoming and transfer students. Provide support to all aspects of the Lancaster Advising communication strategy - email, website, events, etc. Secondary Duties & Responsibilities: Manage special projects as requested by the Director and Associate Director. Collaborate with the Office of Student Success in contributing to the Undergraduate Persistence Report (November and March) for the Undergraduate student population at the Lancaster location. Assist with end of semester academic probation and dismissal review and communications for undergraduate SNAH students. Manage online forms housed in the Machform Software System for the Lancaster campus including course elsewhere requests and program change request forms. Minimum Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of two years of experience in advising or related experiences. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and administrators. Demonstrated effectiveness in communicating in oral and written forms.
