The NM works collaboratively with all departments to ensure that nursing services are delivered at the appropriate level in keeping with DDA and MBON regulations. The NM is responsible for creating an environment conducive to achieving quality outcomes, effective use of resources and retention of quality staff. He (she) is responsible for the management and development of his (her) resources, human and fiscal if needed, to include implementation of quality control, quality improvement, satisfaction of supported individuals, families, and staff as well as review and revision of policies and procedures, as needed. The NM collaborates with other department leaders on issues related to the effective management of health and safety and interacts regularly with the appropriate resources to ensure the effectiveness of care. He/she will also act as liaison between the organization and DDA, associated hospitals, long term care, or rehabilitation services as needed. The NM will assume a small caseload within the Meaningful Day services department. The NM is a resource within the organization regarding nursing services, and related issues within the community.
