Returning the medication container to proper storage. Keeping a record of when a client receives assistance with self-administration of medication. The CNA may also provide the following assistance with self-administered medication, as needed by the client: Preparing necessary items such as juice, water, cups, or spoons to assist the client in the self-administration of medication; Opening and closing the medication container or tearing the foil of prepackaged medications; Assisting the client in the self-administration process. Examples of such assistance include the steadying of the arm, hand, or other parts of the client's body so as to allow the self-administration of medication; Abides by the agency’s infection control policies, including proper hand washing techniques consistent with CDC Guidelines. Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

The Nursing Supervisor assumes full accountability for planning, organization, direction, coordination, and evaluation of patient care services during his/her assigned shift. Responsibilities include but not limited to: resource allocation, quality improvement and patient safety, over-sight of on-call personnel, financial management, appropriation of equipment, patient and family advocacy, emergency management, and administrative supervision. The Nursing Supervisor role is crucial to the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care and, therefore, the success of the St. Joseph Hospital. The Nursing Supervisor serves in the absence of the VP-PCS, clinical nursing directors, and the CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.

- Current NH license required or temporary license.

- Baccalaureate degree required.

- MSN/Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

- 3-5 years of clinical experience in appropriate clinical area with demonstrated ability in clinical and administrative management.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

- Membership in professional nursing organization required.

- Certification in specialty area or administration preferred
