The candidate is expected to lead an independent research program and have experience mentoring nurses in conducting clinical research. The DPHS is part of the Research Institute within the College of Health Sciences at Geisinger. Geisinger, a large integrated health system with a research portfolio that includes funding from NIH, CDC, PCORI, state and foundation grants, and industry. The DPHS faculty includes epidemiologists, biostatisticians, health services, and health economist researchers. Faculty have access to longitudinal electronic medical record data, claims data, genetic, and environmental data. The position is jointly funded by Nursing Research. The candidate will be expected to direct the Nursing Research Fellowship program, a 12-month program that aims to increase knowledge about research and generate projects to support the nursing excellence culture at Geisinger. It is also expected that this role will help enhance research training in our nursing education programs.
