Vermont State University offers a 1+1+2 Practical Nursing Certificate, Associate Degree in Nursing, and RN to BSN online program that encourage nursing career ladder advancement. The first year is three semesters and culminates with a Certificate in Practical Nursing. Candidates who complete the first year are eligible to sit for the NCLEX PN exam. The second year, the Associate Degree in Nursing year, consists of two semesters and successful completion allows the graduate to sit for the NCLEX RN exam. Candidates must be LPNs to be considered for the second year of the program. The third and fourth years are completely online and allow a student to obtain a Bachelor's in Nursing Degree. Vermont State University delivers instruction at four traditional campuses (Bennington, Brattleboro, Randolph Center and Williston).
