Students must be currently enrolled in an affiliated program with an approved rotation by FHCSD. Responsibilities: Performs duties as assigned by rotation and clinic under direct supervision. The nursing student provides support to an assigned department as a learner/student while gaining knowledge of community health care. Requirements: Interest in community and public health care practices. Licensure and clearance may be required for specific assignments. Enrollment in an accredited school for certification/degree. Current CPR certification preferred (not required) Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural and economic groups. Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently. Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity. Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with employees, coworkers, and departments. Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills. Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is looking for nursing student(s) to perform a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for assigned clinic patients. Students must be currently enrolled in an affiliated program with an approved rotation by FHCSD. 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties as assigned by rotation and clinic under direct supervision.
  • The nursing student provides support to an assigned department as a learner/student while gaining knowledge of community health care.

Requirements:

  • Interest in community and public health care practices.
  • Licensure and clearance may be required for specific assignments.
  • Enrollment in an accredited school for certification/degree.
  • Current CPR certification preferred (not required)
  • Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural and economic groups.
  • Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with employees, coworkers, and departments.
  • Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Spanish/English/Arabic fluency desired, but not always required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
