Adith Miller Manor 0.8 FTE, 64 Hours Bi-Weekly Second Shift- 2pm-10pm or 3:30pm - 9pm Weekends & Holidays: Every Other Position Overview: This position exists for the purpose of providing direct resident care with a strong emphasis on geriatrics. Central to this care is health restoration and maintenance of our resident population. Employees will be able to utilize and interpret the resident plan of care, which includes short and long-term goals. Employees will possess strong communication skills and a strong teamwork approach which serves to enhance resident care, safety and dignity. The PCA/CNA will participate in the complete care of our assisted living residents in a manner that allows the residents to live to their fullest potential. This includes assisting residents in personal cares and daily living skills, assisting with structured recreational and social activities, and assisting with serving nutritional meals and household services that are essential to the well-being, safety, and health of the residents Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Assist the resident with personal cares to include all or some of the following: dressing, grooming and oral cares; shampooing of hair; assisting with showering or bathing; applying lotions; fingernail cares and foot cares if instructed to do so by an RN; redirection and use of validation techniques and/or appropriate diversion activities when caregiving for residents with memory care needs, and other cares as assigned. Assisting the resident in the use of the commode, urinal, toilet and with adult incontinence products as assigned. Assisting with safe ambulation and transfers, including proper use of a transfer belt and assistive devices and proper body mechanics to avoid injury. Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for Medication administration as delegated by the Assist with treatments as delegated the Register Nurse according to the resident's individualized care plan Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration as Report changes or concerns to nursing. Preparation of light nutritional snacks and hydration as directed, following special meal plans if instructed. Offers a engaging, family style dining experience that fosters opportunities for Observe resident and report to the RN or LPN changes in the resident's physical and emotional condition, such as change in attitude, appearance, loss of appetite, weight, Effectively communicate resident and/or family representative feedback, complaints or concerns to nursing and/or administration. Must promote residents' independence and dignity by offering choices and creating moments of success. Leads memory care residents in activities as assigned and provides socialization and companionship to residents while performing assigned These techniques include using interactive participatory song, dance, storytelling and gentle touch. Works successfully with co-workers to share and distribute daily Organize and prioritize assigned work during scheduled shift to complete assigned Document services provided accurately and consistent with agency policies and complete all required paperwork in a timely and legible manner. Attend required in-service training-at least 8 hours for every 12 months of employment as well as staff meetings and other agency events. Follow agency procedures for universal precautions when performing assigned Maintain a clean environment for Dust, vacuum, mop and other household chores as scheduled and assigned Use validation techniques and/or appropriate diversion activities when dealing with residents with dementia. Actively engages our residents by implementing Kairos Alive! techniques in our day to day contact with them. These techniques include using intergenerational interactive participatory dance, storytelling and touch to liberate their power to nurture and heal our Health and conforms to the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of the department. Supports and enhances the dining program as assigned; duties to include, but not limited to setting up the dining room, cooking, baking, serving our residents and guest, and cleaning up the dining room. Participates in and supports continuous improvement Essential Skills and Experience: Ability to become a Certified Nursing Assistant within 90 days of hire. CPR certified Compensation: Personal Care Attendant: $16.50 per hour; Certified Nursing Assistant: $18.00 per hour.
