Responsibilities for the Director of Nursing Day to day clinical operations – Scheduling, staffing, inventory, pharmacy, building maintenance and functionality coordinating with state compliance officer to ensure clinical operations are following TDSHS. Provides rapid response and follow-up to medical staff issues/concerns; greets new physicians and orients them to the department services. Ensures safe care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice. Coordinates with managers in facility for education, quality care and patient flow and satisfaction. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency. Requirements and Qualifications for the Director of Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing - BSN preferred; master's degree is preferred. Current licensure through the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. At least five years of progressive clinical experience. Professional Certification in clinical area or management.
