Apply Description This position is a full-time tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing, commensurate with background and experience. This faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses at the undergraduate/graduate levels offered through both the traditional on-campus as well as online programs. Essential Responsibilities: Teach Nursing courses at the undergraduate/graduate levels for both the traditional on-campus as well as online programs after planning course instruction based upon existing course descriptions and/or syllabi, goals, and objectives in a manner that supports student success and achievement. Design, administer, and grade course assignments and exams to assess the achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus in a timely fashion. Provide clear documentation of student progress through regular feedback (e.g., conversations, email, assessment remarks), academic alerts, and midterm progress reports as necessary. Create a classroom environment that actively engages students and is conducive to learning. Serve as an advisor to Nursing students and maintain regular offices hours to meet with advisees and other students Support ongoing curriculum review/revisions and updates. Assist the Program Director and Division Chair in writing the CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) reaccreditation documents. Excel in the three pillars of faculty life at Keuka College: teaching, service, and scholarship. Work with the Division Chair and the Program Director in the recruitment and retention of students. Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies. Maintain high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures. Always maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, internal and external customers. Represent Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork. Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required. Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. This position is a full-time tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing, commensurate with background and experience. This faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses at the undergraduate/graduate levels offered through both the traditional on-campus as well as online programs. The teaching load for this position is 4-4. High-quality teaching and mentoring are imperative, and we seek enthusiastic faculty who value working closely with our student population.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with clinical experience and expertise, who has exceptional organizational and technological skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment while effectively managing multiple responsibilities and competing priorities. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach Nursing courses at the undergraduate/graduate levels for both the traditional on-campus as well as online programs after planning course instruction based upon existing course descriptions and/or syllabi, goals, and objectives in a manner that supports student success and achievement.
  • Design, administer, and grade course assignments and exams to assess the achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus in a timely fashion.
  • Provide clear documentation of student progress through regular feedback (e.g., conversations, email, assessment remarks), academic alerts, and midterm progress reports as necessary.
  • Create a classroom environment that actively engages students and is conducive to learning.
  • Serve as an advisor to Nursing students and maintain regular offices hours to meet with advisees and other students
  • Support ongoing curriculum review/revisions and updates.
  • Assist the Program Director and Division Chair in writing the CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) reaccreditation documents.
  • Excel in the three pillars of faculty life at Keuka College: teaching, service, and scholarship.
  • Work with the Division Chair and the Program Director in the recruitment and retention of students.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Maintain high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
  • Always maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, internal and external customers.
  • Represent Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
  • Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.

  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • MS in Nursing from a CCNE Accredited program required, Doctorate preferred. Candidates who are nationally certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or those who have experience in labor and delivery and teaching maternal/child nursing are preferred. Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing from a CCNE accredited program is also preferred. Licensure: Unencumbered RN licensure in New York is required.
  • Two years post-MS work experience is required.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • Dedication to pursuit of scholarly interests in collaboration with students.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including community partners, to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Willingness to stay current with evolving nursing practices, program management, and relevant trends.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
