About Dharma Home Care
At Dharma Home Care, we believe aging deserves honor, culture deserves respect, and those who provide care deserve to be valued and supported. We are a new and growing private duty home care agency built on the idea that care should be thoughtful, culturally attuned, and rooted in genuine partnership—with families and with our team.
We are on a mission to enhance the lives of older adults and people with disabilities by building an empowered team that delivers compassionate care, applies research-backed best practices, leverages smart technology, and honors each person’s story, wisdom, and purpose.
About the Role
We are seeking a part-time Director of Nursing (RN) who shares our values and passion for serving elders and building a best-in-class care team. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate seeking consistent, predictable hours, a low-stress care setting, and mission-driven and meaningful part-time work that can grow into a full-time leadership role as the agency scales.
This role offers a hybrid schedule—with time split between our Bergen County office, field visits to clients’ homes or facilities, and remote work. The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, compassionate, and comfortable being available after hours for clinical emergencies (on-call rotation to be determined as team grows).
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and colleagues to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct home visits and site assessments to evaluate client needs and ensure care plan compliance
  • Document and adjust care plans based on observed client health or behavior changes
  • Serve as the clinical liaison between the agency, clients, and families to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs) and other care staff
  • Support the Recruiter with conducting new hire orientation and skills assessments
  • Assist with building trust and relationships in the community  by participating in or leading lunch-and-learns, health talks, and community engagement events at local assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospices, and physician practices
  • Ensure compliance with New Jersey regulations, agency policies, and accreditation standards
  • Assist in preparing for Commission on Accreditation for Home Care (CAHC) compliance and audits
  • Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with NJ requirements
Qualifications
  • RN license in good standing with the NJ Board of Nursing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, Gerontology, Health Services, or a related field OR 2+ years’ experience in geriatrics or care management
  • Previous RN experience (home care preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical judgment skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (local travel within Bergen County required)
  • First Aid/CPR certified (or willing to obtain upon hire)
Benefits & PerksWe’re in the early stages of our growth, and while a full benefits package is coming soon, we currently offer:
  • Flexible, hybrid schedules (remote + in-office + field visits)
  • Supportive and mission-driven team environment
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • Access to leadership and a voice in shaping agency direction
  • Future opportunities for full-time leadership roles
  • Paid time off
  • 401K retirement savings plan
