Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). For Rural Health Network facilities and Good Samaritan Society (GSS) locations only, employees who do not possess a Bachelor’s degree, leadership may consider an educational plan with proven continuous action toward achieving a Bachelor’s degree within five years of hire into position. Additionally for Rural Health Network facilities Good Samaritan Society (GSS) locations, for current employees, leadership may have considered acceptable qualifications and work experience equivalency based on facility size, rural market, and business need, prior to new Sanford education requirements. Five years nursing experience required. Housing with Services, housing and urban development (HUD), and/or assisted living experience also helpful. Stays and works beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet state staffing requirements and/or needs of patients; 28. Performs other duties as requested. Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements: 1. Successful completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program. 2. A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma is preferred. 3. This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs. 4. Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required. 5. Basic knowledge of computer use or willingness to learn. 6. Must attend a minimum of 12 hours continuing education programs provided by the center in order to maintain certification. 7. Certified Nursing Assistant Specimen Collector (In States Where Permitted) Responsibilities/Accountabilities: 1. Collect nasal specimens for point-of-care testing, following established procedures and manufacturer's recommendations. 2. Maintain specimen integrity by following appropriate infection control practices. 3. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, gown, respirator and face shield/eye protection) for specimen collection. 3.1. Successful fit testing and ability to wear respirator (e.g. N95/KN95) 4. Ensure appropriate labeling of specimens collected. 5. Complete required documentation timely and accurately. 6. Successful completion of Point-of-Care testing specimen collection education and training 7. Successful completion of specimen collection competency 8. Report malfunction of specimen collection equipment or incidents occurring during specimen collection. 9. Successful completion of Point of Care testing specimen processing and analyzing of specimens with POC testing instrument, as permitted by state and federal regulations. 10. Must be able to utilize PPE appropriately, including respirator, gowns, gloves and eye protection.
