Position Title Clinical Nurse (RN) - Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU Bell Hospital Position Summary / Career Interest: The CTSICU (HC3 ICU) is a 16-bed ICU that supports the acute surgery needs of the cardiac, thoracic, and advanced heart failure patient. Nurses on this unit help with the immediate post-operative care of the coronary artery bypass, valve replacement, left ventricular assist device (LVAD), and heart transplant patients. The unit is known for its high acuity and the advanced patient care therapies (continuous renal replacement therapy-CRRT, intra-aortic balloon pump-IABP, LVAD, ProTek Duo, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation-ECMO) our nurses are trained to support. The Clinical Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment and accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation for the comfort and well-being of patients. Carries out a plan of care specific to unit competencies for the target patient population. Coordinates care delivery and education through collaboration with patient, family and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective and quality patient care. Various Shifts Available Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit Nurses on this unit are highly trained to care for some of the most acutely ill patients at The University of Kansas Health System. Our patients recover from major cardiothoracic surgeries under the watchful eye of experienced, caring nurses and expert physicians. Patients in our unit have recently undergone cardiothoracic surgeries including coronary artery bypass, valve replacement, and heart transplants. Our nurses maintain competencies to manage advanced patient care therapies only offered in the Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and guests warmly and provide an exceptional game day experience.
  • Bellhop Responsibilities - transport tailgating equipment to guests' designated areas, maintain their tailgate site, and check in to ensure their needs are met. Walk the site and check in with tailgate tents to make sure guests are enjoying their time and offer assistance as needed.
  • Welcome Tent Supervision - manage the guest services area, direct guests, and provide assistance as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service and exemplify REVELxp's core values of service, joy, and entrepreneurship, ensuring that all guests have an unforgettable experience.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs, requests, and inquiries, addressing concerns with professionalism and a can-do attitude.
  • Assist the Event Coordinator with day-of operational tasks, including setting up and breaking down equipment, managing supplies, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Be proactive in assisting with any special requests from guests, such as transporting equipment back to vehicles or assisting with the cleanup and maintenance of tailgate sites.
  • Maintain a clean and organized site, ensuring all areas are tidy and presentable throughout the event.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Team-oriented mindset, with a commitment to ensuring a collaborative and efficient team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, peers, and supervisors.
  • Must be available to work every home game (September to late November).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be at least 16 years old and able to work 10-20 hours per week.

Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with carrying, setting up, and moving equipment.
