JOB TITLE: Supv Wind Tech REQUISITION: FOS00HO DEPARTMENT: Western Plains Wind Farm LOCATION: Spearville, KS PAY RANGE: $91,600 - $122,100 (Min-Mid) Scheduled Work Hours: Monday- Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: This position reports directly to the Western Plains Wind Site Manager and works in close partnership with a peer technician supervisor. The selected candidate will supervise seven Evergy wind turbine technicians, technicians performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on industrial wind turbines using prudent utility and wind industry practices. In addition to supervising employees, additional duties will include supervising contractors and performing site Balance of Plant (BOP) duties: inspections, switching, grounding and initial outage response. Supervisor also perform and supervise work on the O&M facilities, site communication systems, and computer networks. Supervisors will typically spend about 50% of their time in the field, 50% in the office or warehouse. Provides advanced guidance and oversight of technician maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work on 122 Siemens Gamesa 2.3MW wind turbines. Daily schedules all technician work orders, prioritizing work according to criticality and ensuring work completion necessary for PM compliance, continual site availability and long-term site reliability. Prepares information, tooling and supplies for the technicians so that all planned work will be ready to be executed safely, efficiently and effectively. Ensures all safety related events are promptly reported, all LOTO protocols are being properly executed/documented, and all safety protocols are being followed. Education and Experience: Extensive technical knowledge of the SWT platform and prior supervisory or team leader experience are both highly preferred. Prior experience with BOP operations and high voltage switching is preferred. Candidates will be expected to be/become proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Office products with a strong emphasis on Excel, computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo), and plant SCADA systems (Siemens WPS). Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required: Candidates must demonstrate an ability to work independently, a willingness to administer policies and procedures in a remote location with minimal oversight, have good oral and written communication skills, project supervisory skills, and experience in directing a team. Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing: Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving history. Must be able to obtain rescue certification within one year of hire and maintain the certification. Working Conditions: Candidates must be able and willing to climb 80-meter towers to fulfill the duties described herein. Being on-call and living (or relocating to) within 45 minutes of the site is required. Some evening/weekend work is expected. Supervisors are not typically called out to site but must be able to help support/coordinate the on-call technicians.
