The invasive team member will assist in coordinating an interdisciplinary approach to the patient while promoting continuity of care through communication of the patient's plan, condition and progress towards outcomes. The invasive team member will participate and demonstrate effective education and support for patients and their families to meet their physiological, psychological and spiritual needs. He/she practices within the boundaries of the applicable licensure/registration/certification board and/or agency, specialty standards, and organizational/department policies and procedures. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Documents and communicates transport events as indicated. Reviews patient treatments/therapies to be continued during transport (SBAR). Monitors and maintains patient care pre/post procedure. Completes defibrillator checks on transport monitors according to policy and procedure. Assists with maintaining linen and patient care supplies in all labs. Assists with cleaning the rooms between cases and at the end of the day using appropriate cleaning solutions. Manages the removal of sheaths from patients post procedure following the hospital policy and procedure. Assist in the lab during procedures: obtains equipment needed during the procedure and uses sterile technique when handing off sterile equipment. Maintains a sterile environment in the procedure suites. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. SW KC Mkt Cath Lab Technician

Position Summary / Career Interest:

Will be responsible for assisting in the invasive labs with daily operations to ensure quick turnarounds between procedures, including but not limited to transport, prep, sterile table preparation, arterial/venous pressure holding and assisting in critical situations. The invasive team member will assist in coordinating an interdisciplinary approach to the patient while promoting continuity of care through communication of the patient's plan, condition and progress towards outcomes. The invasive team member will participate and demonstrate effective education and support for patients and their families to meet their physiological, psychological and spiritual needs. He/she practices within the boundaries of the applicable licensure/registration/certification board and/or agency, specialty standards, and organizational/department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Documents and communicates transport events as indicated.
  • Reviews patient treatments/therapies to be continued during transport (SBAR).
  • Monitors and maintains patient care pre/post procedure.
  • Completes defibrillator checks on transport monitors according to policy and procedure.
  • Assists with maintaining linen and patient care supplies in all labs.
  • Assists with cleaning the rooms between cases and at the end of the day using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Manages the removal of sheaths from patients post procedure following the hospital policy and procedure.
  • Assist in the lab during procedures: obtains equipment needed during the procedure and uses sterile technique when handing off sterile equipment.
  • Maintains a sterile environment in the procedure suites.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
