Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree (Design diploma or Associate's acceptable for Designer-level roles). 5–30+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or design for heavy industrial projects (EPC preferred). Proficiency in 3D modeling and design tools such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CADWorx, SmartPlant 3D, or SolidWorks. Experience developing equipment layouts, piping supports, and mechanical installation details. Strong understanding of rotating and static equipment, material selection, and fabrication methods. Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME Section VIII, API 610/650, ANSI, NFPA). Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain (for Engineer-level roles). Willingness to travel for field work or construction support as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience in pulp & paper, chemical, power, or manufacturing facilities. Background in design/build EPC environments. Familiarity with 3D scanning, BIM coordination, or Navisworks Review. Understanding of construction sequencing and field installation methods.
