Pick up trash around buildings, dorms and campus grounds, and empty trash cans as required by the Director of Facilities and/or Maintenance and Grounds Manager. Assist the Maintenance Trades Workers as assigned by the Director of Facilities or Maintenance and Grounds Manager. Receive, perform, and complete work orders pertaining to a variety of routine, semi-skilled building maintenance and repair tasks to include: Install, replace, repair flooring; toilet hardware, faucets, wallboard, walls, appliances, tools, interior and exterior painting; rough carpentry; window replacement; bulb replacement; preventive maintenance on heating fixtures; routine plumbing and electrical repairs and other tasks as deemed necessary by the Director of Facilities or Maintenance and Grounds Manager, or as directed by the Office Manager. Maintain/operate tools, equipment, and vehicles utilized to complete the assigned tasks for maintenance work. Follow OSHA standards in the work place. Other related duties as assigned. Position Requirements Knowledge and Education: High school education desirable, plus two to three years of relevant training and/or experience. Previous Experience: Minimum of two to three years of relevant training and/or experience in building and grounds maintenance. Must possess a good basic knowledge and skills related to building and grounds maintenance, repair and construction, including rough carpentry, painting, drywall installation, basic plumbing, glass cutting and replacement, and the like. Abilities to read, write, and comprehend English, as well as perform basic mathematical computations. Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices and Software: Ability to use typical and customary office equipment. Must possess the ability to operate standard grounds equipment including, but not limited to: mowers, heavy equipment, snow blowers etc. License(s) and Certificate(s): Valid U.S. Driver's License.
