The Community Services Department is seeking an energetic person to be responsible for technical, managerial, and administrative work associated with the assignment, prioritization, and oversight of assigned work crews engaged in the full range of construction and maintenance activities associated with the municipal water treatment & distribution systems, sewer collection systems, and related public works projects. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, Exempt position. $1742.80 to $2525.20 per week. Position is open until filled. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position. The listed examples may not include all duties found in this class): Supervises, plans, coordinates and assigns all Wells and Utilities activities with supervisors and subordinates. Responsible for the proper maintenance and operations of City water and sewer systems to comply with all state and federal regulations. In support of proper maintenance and operations, develops work plans, SOP’s, and tracks work orders to ensure systems are properly functioning, reliable and efficient. Regularly reviews Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) System to ensure proper operation and to investigate any concerning operational trends. Supports Engineering Division by identifying utility project needs and corresponding budget impacts based on regular infrastructure condition assessments. Develops and oversees plans to ensure compliance with all applicable Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act regulations. Files timely reports, as necessary. Makes frequent contact with the general public and takes lead in addressing any drinking water or sewer collection concerns or complaints. Also has frequent contact with other utilities and private contractors. Reviews and inspects private and public utility work construction for conformance to specifications. Discusses and reviews present and future plans with administrative superior(s). Assists in the preparation of the budget. Evaluates and disciplines subordinates as required. Strives to keep employees customer service oriented. Instructs assigned personnel in proper working methods and assures that all safe work procedures and protective measures associated with assigned work are taken. Maintains availability when requested and/or necessary to meet emergency situations including but not necessarily limited to water main breaks, sewer backups, and snow removal operations. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, other departments and agencies, and the general public. Maintains familiarity with and executes safe work procedures associated with assigned work. Performs other related duties as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS : Progressively responsible experience in water/sewer operations, general public works operations, and/or civil engineering, which includes a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity. Considerable knowledge of materials, methods and techniques employed in the construction, maintenance and repair of the distribution and treatment facilities of a municipal water system, municipal sewer collection system and general pumping/hydraulic projects. Also requires considerable knowledge of the theory and practice of modern water treatment and of machines, equipment and materials used in water treatment operations; knowledge of sewer collection and pumping operations, including on pump stations, grit removal, and odor-control. Requires considerable knowledge of administrative, managerial practices and procedures. Possesses ability to plan, organize, prioritize, delegate, supervise and inspect work of subordinates; to communicate clearly and concisely; to maintain harmonious working relationships with subordinates and the general public; and to maintain and prepare reports. EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : Graduation from a college/university with a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely-related field, including coursework in civil engineering plus at least ten years progressively responsible experience, including five years in a supervisory capacity; OR licensure as NH Grade III Water Treatment and Distribution Licenses and NH Sewer Collection System Grade III Certification; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of required knowledge, skills and abilities. Perform required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe repair, laying and backfilling, raising old manhole covers and catch basins to road level for street reconstruction. 2. Perform general heavy laboring duties in assisting skilled and semi-skilled workers to remove trees, mix and pour cement, lay asphalt, patch streets, install and repair water and sewer lines, clear culverts, drains, roads and ditches, maintain park facilities, mow grass, clear weeds and brush, rake and pack leaves and debris, etc. 3. Provide assistance with operation of jet truck, camera truck and other light and medium-sized construction and power equipment 4. Provide assistance with snow removal operations, either operating small trucks or sidewalk plows, or may serve as a wingman on plow. Attach and remove snow plows, sanders, and associated equipment from vehicles. 5. Assists in other activities to mitigate conditions caused by extreme weather conditions, and natural and man-made disasters. 6. Operate and perform maintenance on hand tools and other machinery which may include, but not be limited to, mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, weed whackers, etc. 7. Occasionally performs traffic control functions at job sites. 8. Operate trucks and motorized equipment as necessary. 9. Maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. 10. Available 24 hours per day to meet emergency situations as required. 11. Familiar with and executes safe work procedures associated with assigned work. 12. Performs other related duties as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Basic knowledge of and the ability to use simple hand and power tools. Ability to perform simple and routine manual labor and perform one routine job for a prolonged period. Sufficient physical strength, conditioning and agility to perform strenuous manual labor for extended periods of time under adverse and varying weather and climatic conditions. Job Overview Rightworks has been decades in the making, and now we’re at the start of an exciting new chapter. Our in-house Creative Team is looking to bring the Rightworks brand to life in new ways and new channels. Critical to our brand’s success—and our team’s success—is our Senior Copy Manager. As a player/coach, you and your team will be responsible for projects that help build and grow our brand and ultimately drive sales leads and conversions. From digital ad campaigns and videos, to live events and websites, it all comes through our team. You will report directly to our VP of Creative and work closely with our Senior Design Manager (both as creative partners as well as leaders within the organization). Note: This is a hybrid position, with 2-3 days per week working onsite in our Nashua, NH headquarters. About the Role Our in-house Creative Team is looking for a Senior Copy Manager to come in and make their mark on Rightworks. Reporting to our VP of Creative, you will: Oversee our copy team, including reviewing concepts and copy, providing creative direction, 1:1 coaching and mentoring, etc. Partner with the Senior Design Manager as creative leaders of the Rightworks brand Partner with the Senior Design Manager and Lead Designer to concept ad campaigns for social, display and digital video Actively work as the assigned copywriter on projects both big and small, including paid digital campaigns, corporate website & campaign-specific landing pages, email campaigns to prospects and customers, videos, sales collateral and more. Partner with stakeholders across the marketing org to understand and enhance campaign strategies Lead the exploration and development of the Rightworks brand voice Work with external contractors & vendors, including video editors, animators and VO talent Work closely with our Creative Ops Manager to develop and manage deadlines, optimize output, and prioritize an ever-changing workload Requirements 15+ years of copywriting experience, including 5+ years of people management. Bachelor's degree in creative arts, Marketing, Advertising or a related field. Internal creative team experience is required; agency experience is a plus Experience executing creative campaigns across the entire marketing funnel, with a focus on growth and acquisition campaigns. Portfolio that shows a range of campaigns, including: Digital campaigns: Paid display & social ads, website, email campaigns, etc. Video: Concepting/scripting for YouTube ad campaigns, as well as product overviews and explainers, customer testimonials, etc. Ability to take a B2B message and humanize it through your words and tone of voice. Comfortable taking the lead in strategy & messaging discussions with internal marketing stakeholders Link to portfolio required Eligibility Requirements This role is open to US Citizens or permanent residents authorized to work in the United States.
