Overview
Job Description
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Set up and stock cooking stations with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared with the highest quality ingredients and in a timely manner.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth service.
- Assist in inventory management, including receiving and storing deliveries.
- Monitor food waste and assist in managing portion control.
- Communicate with the Chef and Sous Chef to address any issues or concerns.
- Maintain consistency in presentation, flavor, and quality of dishes.
- Ensure proper equipment use and notify management of any issues or malfunctions.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine and cooking techniques is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure and stay organized.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to restaurant standards.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A passion for food and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a hot and busy kitchen environment.
