Polishing Technician I – Precision Optics
Location: Lebanon, NHIndustry: Ultra-Precision Optics Manufacturing
Status: Full-time
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Persons only (ITAR-controlled facility)

Bond Optics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Polishing Technician I to support the fabrication of custom glass optics. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to break into precision manufacturing, with full training provided by industry veterans. You'll assist with continuous polishing processes, measurement, and machine maintenance all within a fast paced, high-tech environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support the operation and cleaning of continuous polishers and metrology tools.
- Assist with the preparation and handling of delicate optical components.
- Perform basic measurements using interferometers and interpret results with guidance.
- Follow documented procedures to ensure part quality and consistency.
- Inspect for cosmetic defects and dimensional nonconformance.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation for safety and precision.
- Participate in training to grow your skills and support career advancement.
What You Bring
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
- Comfort working with your hands and handling precision equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow detailed instructions.
Preferred Background
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or hands-on experience in manufacturing is a plus.
- Basic understanding of optical principles or manufacturing processes is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle components weighing 15–50 lbs frequently.
- Manual dexterity for handling fragile optics and performing fine motor tasks.
- Adequate vision (corrected if needed) for detailed inspection work.
