Overview
Job Description
- Continuous Improvement: Actively identify, monitor, and escalate process roadblocks that could cause downstream defects. Support root cause analysis by providing clear details and applying problem solving skills.
- Safe & Proper Equipment Use: Operate equipment needed to move heavy parts and materials throughout the facility. This includes understanding basic operational mechanics, safety procedures, and proper equipment handling.
- Receiving Shipments: Unload inbound shipments delivered by carriers and move materials to the appropriate areas.
- Shipment Inspection: Visually inspect incoming packages to ensure they meet acceptance standards outlined in standard operating procedures.
- Quality Control: Review part specific requirements and process materials accurately by following established operating procedures.
- Documentation & Records: Use tools and systems to upload, store, and complete required documentation to close out receipts or work orders in accordance with procedures.
- Data Entry & System Navigation: Accurately enter data into inventory management systems based on physical deliveries. Navigate system modules and review task specific information as needed.
- Packaging & Material Protection: Select appropriate packaging and properly wrap or store parts at various stages of the fulfillment or manufacturing workflow.
- Sorting & Staging: Move and organize boxes, crates, and storage containers securely to support efficient workflow and prevent material loss.
- Labeling & Identification: Ensure all parts are properly labeled and marked with required identifiers so they can be accurately tracked throughout the workflow.
- Storage Assignment & Auditing: Store parts—individually or in bulk—using sound judgment and standard operating procedures. Perform storage audits as required.
- 2+ years of Fulfillment Center Operations experience, including an industry with receiving and inventory functions.
- Safety is a top priority. It is imperative that the employees strictly adheres to established safety protocols and guidelines. This includes but is not limited to wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following safe operating procedures, and participating in regular safety training sessions.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- An attitude of world-class quality, attention to detail, and dedication.
- Communication skills within a highly technical environment.
- Mathematical skills including calculation of percentages, area, volume, and unit of measure conversions. Analytical skills to define problems, collect appropriate and relevant data, establish facts, and draw reasonable conclusions from gathered information.
- Ability to derive inventory requirements from drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Previous certified forklift experience.
- Warehouse/Receiving/Inventory experience in the aerospace or automotive industry.
