Care Ring, Inc . - a fast-growing and highly-respected community organization seeks a passionate leader for the role of Supervisor for Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP), a nationally recognized program.  This leader’s primary purpose is to work within the local community and organizational structure to assure that the NFP Program is implemented in accordance with established guidelines and contract requirements. To add, the NFP Nurse Supervisor will use the principles of supervision, reflective practice, and staff development, to provide primary support and appropriate oversight to the nurse home visitors, and to build and model a strengths-based, client-centered culture. Basic Job Function: Assigns client caseloads and monitor nurse home visitor’s ability to build and manage caseload. Develops and maintains community referral sources for the NFP Program. Ability to maintain relationships based on trust, support and growth with team colleagues and community members. Ensures that supervision of NFP nurse home visitors utilizes principles and concepts of motivational interviewing, coaching and reflective practice (modeling therapeutic relationships, change theory, self-efficacy, client centered, strength based, and solution focused approaches). Develops and implements regular reflective practice supervision within the program and conducts field visits, as well as evaluation of nurse home visitors and administrative support staff (including annual leave, annual review, disciplinary action, etc.). Facilitate regular case conferences and team meetings as recommended by NFP. Evaluates implementing agency outcomes and interventions. Provides useful developmental feedback, and confronts and develops a plan with staff to address performance and resolve issues Administrative Skills: Oversees the recruitment and hiring of all nurse home visitors and administrative support staff ensuring that they can implement the NFP philosophy and model Ensures that all staff, including supervisor, attend all required NFP education sessions as outlined in the orientation materials and your contract with the Nurse-Family Partnership National Service Office. Oversees and ensures timely and accurate data input and utilization of the web-based reports and other reports available through NFP. Reads and interprets reports; shares appropriately with team and partners Based on agency policy, actively participate in, chair, or coordinate all NFP community coalition/advisory board meetings. Develops and implements external and internal systems to assure timely receipt and disposition of referrals to and from the NFP Utilizes agency policies and procedures or develops needed policy and procedure to guide implementation. Clinical Skills: Builds confidence and skill of nurse home visitors. Provides adequate orientation, professional development opportunities and study time to remediate gaps in necessary knowledge and skill. Effectively assists nurse home visitors in analyzing complex problems and case situations. Structure appropriate continuing education and guidance of staff. Ensures implementation of quality improvement strategies. Qualifications and Education Requirements Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field required Valid unencumbered NC or SC RN license is required. Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting, mental/behavioral nursing, or working with diverse populations preferred. Minimum two years supervisory experience Excellent computer skills necessary including all MS Office Suite applications or equivalent programs Strong interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, including presentations. Valid driver’s license and car insurance required Current CPR required Bilingual Spanish Preferred-- if hired as Spanish speaking candidate, employee must be fluent in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish Proof of COVID vaccination and one booster required Ability to exercise independent judgment and reason objectively. Experience in managing multi-disciplinary team members. To add, the NFP Nurse Supervisor will use the principles of supervision, reflective practice, and staff development, to provide primary support and appropriate oversight to the nurse home visitors, and to build and model a strengths-based, client-centered culture.

Basic Job Function:

  • Assigns client caseloads and monitor nurse home visitor’s ability to build and manage caseload.
  • Develops and maintains community referral sources for the NFP Program.
  • Ability to maintain relationships based on trust, support and growth with team colleagues and community members.
  • Ensures that supervision of NFP nurse home visitors utilizes principles and concepts of motivational interviewing, coaching and reflective practice (modeling therapeutic relationships, change theory, self-efficacy, client centered, strength based, and solution focused approaches).
  • Develops and implements regular reflective practice supervision within the program and conducts field visits, as well as evaluation of nurse home visitors and administrative support staff (including annual leave, annual review, disciplinary action, etc.).
  • Facilitate regular case conferences and team meetings as recommended by NFP.
  • Evaluates implementing agency outcomes and interventions.
  • Provides useful developmental feedback, and confronts and develops a plan with staff to address performance and resolve issues
Administrative Skills:
  • Oversees the recruitment and hiring of all nurse home visitors and administrative support staff ensuring that they can implement the NFP philosophy and model
  • Ensures that all staff, including supervisor, attend all required NFP education sessions as outlined in the orientation materials and your contract with the Nurse-Family Partnership National Service Office.
  • Oversees and ensures timely and accurate data input and utilization of the web-based reports and other reports available through NFP.
  • Reads and interprets reports; shares appropriately with team and partners
  • Based on agency policy, actively participate in, chair, or coordinate all NFP community coalition/advisory board meetings.
  • Develops and implements external and internal systems to assure timely receipt and disposition of referrals to and from the NFP
  • Utilizes agency policies and procedures or develops needed policy and procedure to guide implementation.

Clinical Skills:
  • Builds confidence and skill of nurse home visitors.
  • Provides adequate orientation, professional development opportunities and study time to remediate gaps in necessary knowledge and skill.
  • Effectively assists nurse home visitors in analyzing complex problems and case situations.
  • Structure appropriate continuing education and guidance of staff.
  • Ensures implementation of quality improvement strategies.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field required
  • Valid unencumbered NC or SC RN license is required.
  • Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting, mental/behavioral nursing, or working with diverse populations preferred.
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience
  • Excellent computer skills necessary including all MS Office Suite applications or equivalent programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, including presentations.
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance required
  • Current CPR required
  • Bilingual Spanish Preferred-- if hired as Spanish speaking candidate, employee must be fluent in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish
  • Proof of COVID vaccination and one booster required
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and reason objectively.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary team members.
