The ideal candidate will not wait for the market to dictate their opportunities, but will envision win-win outcomes that improve our clients' businesses, generate projects for Brady and create long-term, value-based partnerships. The Vertical Market Leader is assigned one to three vertical markets (i.e. life sciences, healthcare, K12, universities, etc.) and is expected to be regarded as an expert in our industry, understands the business segment's strategic initiatives, business pressures, procurement, and complex organizational structures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Expands relationships within existing customer base, and creates new business relationships with non-current customers. Develop and execute account penetration plan, to drive profitable short-term and long-term growth, for assigned accounts using account management principles Identifies project opportunities by aligning building system improvements and services offered by Brady that can help customers achieve successful (measurable) outcomes and solve related problems. Inspires customers to take action (i.e. sign contracts) by creating and communicating a vision based on real outcomes of a successfully implemented project. Utilizes strategic account planning and sales pipeline tools, such as Salesforce. Follows an effective sales process that includes targeting, qualifying, identifying customer needs, communicating vision, up-front contracts, developing solutions, presenting benefits, and closing the sale. Works effectively with supporting team members including other salespersons, project developers, project managers, and customer service representatives. Assemble and coordinate project / program development teams, as needed, to solve customer problems and win business Establishes primary buying relationship at D-level and C-level. Develops multiple relationships in the customer's organization with economic buyers and influences technical buyers including facility directors, project managers, project engineers, construction, and purchasing. Maintains knowledge of marketplace issues, industry trends, competitive information, customer expectations, public policy and other market drivers. Meets sales targets (quota), in order to meet commission and compensation requirements outlined in the employee agreement. Provides leads to other business development team members that are outside of the Vertical Market Leaders area of concern. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Serve as a Senior spokesperson for firm at professional events. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in engineering or finance related field. Minimum five years selling HVAC retrofits, controls, energy retrofits, design-build, performance contracts, or technology-focused solution in the facilities industry. Total industry experience of 10 + years is preferred. Background may include engineering, project management, building operator, technician, or installation supervisor, or software support. CEM, LEED, PE and/or other industry certifications is not required, but is a plus. Operator-level knowledge of building automation system and chiller plants is not required, but is a plus. Understands components and interaction of building systems including HVAC, controls, lighting, sub meters, and plumbing. Strong desire to achieve a high level of success and income. Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority; high level of leadership and organizational skills required. Ability to quickly establish relationships with D- and C-level executives based on credibility, value, and trust. Dedicated to customer's goals and achieving business outcomes for the client. COMPUTER SKILLS: MS Office Suite. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Driver License LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers and staff. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
