This is accomplished by material handling and using databases, spreadsheets, etc. to track progress and status of orders and parts from various sources. Must work with Engineers, Quality, Lab Technicians, Model Shop Machinists, Purchasing and others to resolve issues and accomplish tasks. Must use various washing and marking equipment and be proficient in the maintenance of such equipment. Must also maintain accurate inventory of prototype and production parts for use in Model Shop operations. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies. Understand and adhere to current quality and control policies. Read and interpret work order parts list or BOM to determine status and source of parts. Place orders with Arden Manufacturing for production components. Check incoming part orders for completeness and accuracy and perform part inspections as necessary with various measurement tools. Wash parts per procedure and maintain parts washers by checking detergent concentration and cleaning out/recharging periodically to maintain cleanliness of hardware. If defects are found, follow proper quarantine procedure and communication of defect. Maintains inventory at offsite warehouse(s) and transports hardware to/from facilities as necessary using company vans and trucks. Verify that all items are labeled appropriately with part numbers, revision levels, description, etc. Etch parts as necessary using laser etching equipment, perform PM work on laser equipment. Ensure parts meet cleanliness standards and are packaged/stored appropriately to minimize damage Perform non-critical assembly/disassembly of turbos when necessary (i.e., removing covers). Ensure timely and efficient part flow from machining through final testing. Interact with appropriate resources to determine correct components or resolve discrepancies. Move heavy material as needed via pallet jack or Powered Industrial Truck (PIT). Stage parts in appropriate areas for work order builds and communicate status via GEMS or other documentation. Verify part numbers match BOM. Perform non-customer shipping support as needed. Prioritize tasks, coordinate activities with Lab Technicians, Machinists, etc. Perform routine cycle count of hardware in Technical Center storage locations Update inventory software for all prototype parts stored and used. Stage castings/parts for machining operations, and process completed parts per procedure Release completed orders to the lab for testing, sample builds, etc. Re-stock Model Shop small parts inventory as required. Arrange material appropriately as to create an orderly and efficient workplace. Disposition hardware per GEMS ticket instructions and communicate appropriately. Assist Logistics Coordinators as needed with kitting of parts, parts travelers, and pick list generation. Enter dimensions and other data in Test Parts Database (TPD) as needed for upcoming builds. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a high school diploma with courses in machine shop or other vocational training preferred. Must be able to read and write proficiently and have good basic math skills. Must be able to accurately follow written and verbal instructions. Computer literacy is necessary.
