Transport and deliver material in the most expeditious, secure and safe manner possible. Organize run to ensure efficient and timely transport and delivery of material. Assess alternative route options. Adapt to ad-hoc customer requests in transit and modify route as necessary. Properly label all material. Distribute material, collect authorized signatures for the addresses upon delivery. Store special handling packages in accordance with safety and regulatory procedures. Coordinate with their sponsor supervisor and fellow couriers to balance the workload. Communicate with others regarding status of deliveries and any changes to routes. Provide guidance to less experienced officers regarding route preparations. Perform duties at the Mail Inspection Facility (MIF) and adhere to all standard operating procedures which include: retrieving Sponsor mail from the USPS and delivering to the MIF; sorting the mail before and after the required security processes; and delivery of cleared mail to the main Sponsor mail room.
