Description Colony Hardware is currently seeking a Warehouse Associate. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Associate has primary responsibility for keeping merchandise organized and ready to ship to customers and branch locations, as well as receiving incoming merchandise from various sources, performing inventory counts, and verifying contents against packing slips. Major Responsibilities Receives and inspects incoming merchandise to ensure that delivery matches packing slip. Examines incoming stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisor or vendor. Sorts, organizes, and labels merchandise with appropriate stock/inventory codes. Performs scheduled cycle counts of products for inventory. Loads truck with packed orders in an organized and specified sequence. Reads pick tickets, prioritizes most critical orders, and verifies item picked matches the pick tickets. Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves following a set of specific instructions or procedures. Pulls, packages, and stages outbound orders. Prepares outbound UPS deliveries as necessary to ensure items are shipped reliably. Moves completed orders to appropriate shipment locations. Operates forklift to load/unload trucks and lift/place merchandise in their appropriate locations on shelves. Ensures that the warehouse is kept orderly, organized, and clean during production and at the end of the shift. Occasionally moves company vehicles and motorized equipment. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting warehouse operations accurately and efficiently. This position is frequently rotated and cross-trained through all warehouse functions as business needs dictate. The job functions include but are not limited to Picking- Determining bins or shelves location and picking product with a hand-held radio frequency (RF) scanner, ensuring accuracy and quantity by scanning barcodes: Placing and/or packing product into cartons or onto a pallet to provide damage-free shipment. Receiving- Unloading trucks, using a forklift, pallet-jack, electric pallet-jack, or by hand; verifying quantity ordered versus quantity received; checking all shipments against packing lists and for damage; marking stock items using identification tags; storing items in an orderly and accessible manner; moving materials and items to designated bins or shelves. Shipping- Preparing preliminary shipping documenting weight, piece count and freight classification of all products, determining the method of shipping on appropriate carries; marking and labeling according to Federal Hazardous Materials Regulations; scheduling shipments. Will Call- Interacting with customers in person; completing accurate and prompt fulfillment of orders. General- Cleaning and maintaining supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations; determining proper storage methods; examining and inspecting stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to manager.
