About the Position: Manage and lead the hourly distribution staff in the execution of operational functions. Administer Distribution Center policies in a firm, fair and consistent manner. Conduct regular meetings with hourly employees to ensure good communication. Coordinate with Distribution supervisors and managers to ensure communication and team effort in fulfilling the daily operations of the Distribution Center. Manage safety through administering daily safety topics, monitoring associate safe work practices, investigating work related incidents, and reviewing opportunities for safety improvements in the facility. Foster safety culture within the facility. Maintain housekeeping standards daily. Requirements: Education: Associate Degree or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics or supply chain desirable. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Distribution environment. About the Position:

Manage and lead the hourly distribution staff in the execution of operational functions. Functions include but are not limited to cycle counting receiving and put-away of inbound material, outbound order fulfillment, replenishment, customer returns, and shipping office requirements. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified workload.

Responsibilities:

  • Position employees in specific roles to meet daily requirements. Directly manage hourly employees while providing support and development. Reduce/increase work force to accommodate workload. Manage the use of overtime.
  • Establish and maintain employee performance standards. Works with employees to set goals and define development needs. Provides ongoing, timely feedback and periodic formal performance evaluations, per company guidelines.
  • Maintain employee attendance records and updates time keeping system as required; track and manage employee vacation request and schedule.
  • Coach, train and develop team members. Collaborates with HR on employee performance and disciplinary issues, executing plans and actions as necessary.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the best possible service to the customer and strives to meet all customer expectations. Support quality in all functions and transactions throughout the warehouse.
  • Direct the continuous flow of inbound receipts, put-a-ways, replenishment, outbound shipments of LTL/UPS orders, and returns throughout the facility. Meet daily deadlines and shipping and receiving goals.
  • Identify, review, and act on opportunities for operational improvements. Supports senior management in improvement kaizens and projects.
  • Administer Distribution Center policies in a firm, fair and consistent manner.
  • Conduct regular meetings with hourly employees to ensure good communication. Coordinate with Distribution supervisors and managers to ensure communication and team effort in fulfilling the daily operations of the Distribution Center.
  • Manage safety through administering daily safety topics, monitoring associate safe work practices, investigating work related incidents, and reviewing opportunities for safety improvements in the facility. Foster safety culture within the facility. Maintain housekeeping standards daily.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate Degree or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics or supply chain desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Distribution environment.
  • Basic reading and writing skills in English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Computer skills including internet, email and excel knowledge.
