Loads delivery truck with product securely-avoid damages Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule Uses cell phone to report on the progress of deliveries Picks up returns items for the company Verifies products delivered against packing slip and has customer sign receipt Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints Enhances the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests Process inbound materials to the warehouse. Compares quantities shown on packing slips or manifests with actual items received Efficient and effective loading and unloading of trucks Inspects items according to instructions and reports damaged goods Ensures materials are placed in the designated area within the warehouse Stacks skids or pallets in designated areas. What you will be doing: Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code Assembles customer orders from stock, stage orders and/or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department according to OH or customer pick sheet Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products and materials using a fork lift, clamp truck or other power equipment Requirements: High school education or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency Minimum 3 to 6 months experience and/or training in a warehouse environment Previous experience operating forklift is required Ability to follow safety regulations while operating equipment Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds Ability to learn proper operations of warehouse equipment The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Job Description

Connor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an available Delivery Driver/Warehouse position in Lafayette, IN. We seek a career-minded person looking for a long-term career with a great company. Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing is preferred but not required.


Candidates must be:
• Available from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

 

Principal Accountabilities:

Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition: check fluid levels and tire pressure: notify Branch Manager before obtaining or scheduling required repairs.

Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and scheduling repairs.

Loads delivery truck with product securely-avoid damages

Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule

Uses cell phone to report on the progress of deliveries

Picks up returns items for the company

Verifies products delivered against packing slip and has customer sign receipt

Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints

Enhances the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Process inbound materials to the warehouse. Compares quantities shown on packing slips or manifests with actual items received

Efficient and effective loading and unloading of trucks

Inspects items according to instructions and reports damaged goods

Ensures materials are placed in the designated area within the warehouse

Stacks skids or pallets in designated areas. Cleans up and disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and putting in the proper container or designated area

General housekeeping: sweeping, mopping, dusting

Assist customers at the counter

Perform other duties as requested

 

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

High School Diploma or its equivalent

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

Critical thinker-using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions

Mathematical reasoning- the ability to choose the suitable method or formulas to solve the problem

Ability to learn Eclipse software

Must be very detail-oriented and focused for accuracy

Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines

Must have strong interpersonal communication skills

Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload

Strong organizational skills required

Must be able to determine and prioritize workload

Ability to read directions and use a street map to plot delivery route
