ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure freight is stable and secure with wrap or tape. Validate that the items have been reviewed and validated via the Cubiscan process. Act as a check to ensure that goods are flowing to the correct location; notify Receiving of any updates or changes. Haul skids to and from the receiving dock, wrapping machine area, picking drop zones, and splitting and shipping areas. Haul freight to proper shipping lanes, overflow areas, and category drop zones while tracking progress. Utilize a radio frequency (RF) scanner to scan and move goods in the system as well as a wrapping machine to shrink wrap pallets of goods. Operate and conduct daily review of equipment and communicate any concerns or issues as necessary; coordinate with maintenance for resolution. Work in compliance with standard operating procedures in addition to state and federal requirements. Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean work area to meet or exceed safety, quality, and productivity standards. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of the Powered Equipment Training, Area Training, and associate proficiency tests. Ability to operate powered industrial equipment and achieve any applicable license. Ability to properly use a RF scanner and wrapping machine. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required; bilingual in Spanish is preferred. Ability to follow established procedures and maintain safety, productivity, quality, housekeeping, and attendance standards. Interpersonal and communication skills as required for a team environment. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Safely operate forklift (Must be able to obtain Alphia certification) accurately and efficiently. Receive finished product from manufacturing lines and ticket by entering computerized inventory system. Received finished product from manufacturing lines and transport to stretch wrapper area for processing. Receive and weigh WIP from manufacturing. Transport bulk totes from warehouse to tote dump station and dump for packaging. Inspect finished product for stack quality, count, and lot code accuracy. Operate Stretch Wrapper, Palletizer, and other warehouse equipment. Responsible for becoming familiar with product ticketing and customer requirements for palletization. Know where to get the information and how to interpret it. Operate computerized inventory system to run necessary reports (production, non-scan, location, receipts, etc.) and enter tickets into the receiving screen. Issue raw ingredients to manufacturing and packaging. Communicate with Packaging Operators on pallet counts to ensure orders are filled correctly. Maintain assigned equipment. Load trucks with finished product. Follow customer requirements, document process. Documentation may include photos, notes, and other required forms. Participate in full facility and equipment clean-up between product runs, as directed. Knowledge and proficiency in Alphia Business Systems as it relates to position. Use GMP’s to maintain plant standards and SOPs for all products. Required to notify an operations leader of any situation or observation that may adversely affect food safety and/or quality. Participate in 1st article of inspection to ensure food safety and quality. Train new employees to successfully perform at a level I or II. Other duties as directed or assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education level: high school diploma and/or GED preferred. Experience: Forklift experience desired. Ability to successfully obtain a forklift certification through ALPHIA. Successfully demonstrated proficiency in working as a level II WH Tech. This must be documented in ALPHIA system. CDL preferred. Ability to train new employees on tasks and skills needed to perform for success. Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form. Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner. Basic math skills including addition and subtraction. Ability to multi-task. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, walk, and move from place to place. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use foot/feet to operate machine, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl or reach above shoulders. The employee is frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or touch. The employee must exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee may be frequently exposed to allergens and/or airborne particles in the production area. Production employees are exposed to temperatures ranging from 50 to 115 degrees, depending on the season and workstation, and may be working near moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions may occur. The noise level in the work environment may be loud while production equipment is running. Personal Protection Equipment (including, but not limited to, boots, gloves, safety glasses, and/or face shields) is required during various processes in the production area. Ear plugs and bump caps are required at all times in the production area.
